It's a lie. It never gets easier, the wounds never goes away. We just learn to live with it. The pain will always be present, we just get used to it. It gets easier until the wound open for a second, third, fourth time... We fall, we stagger, we get up and fall again and again and again. Getting used to it doesn't make the pain go away, it's just accepting it. Becoming stronger means nothing. Life always have little surprise for us

Still, when the wound is fresh, it still hurts and over time it will hurt less and less, and then slowly fades away. Which means it might get easier to live with it. The pain can still be present when you dig deep enough, but getting to accept it makes it easier to go on.
