question, i was told to leave the double bag from blood exposure section on the desk, just so that the radar can see that you did in fact throw everything in the biohazard bag, should i leave it or go ahead and throw it in my big trash bag before raising my hand ?
I take my test on the 31st and I’m really feeling the nerves! I do have a question for this portion though. Do you think it would be okay to take the EPA disinfectant and hand sanitizer from the main station? Or is it easier to have both separately in the nail bag.
No each bag is taken out one at a time like shown in the video, I know you don’t see the bag but each is taken out as your do each section kit remains closed.

Hi, Instructor said to have a nail tip already on the whole nail and place to act as the natural nail and then do a tip over that… do you recommend this? I haven’t seen any vids do this 😵💫😵💫
It depends on the Plastic finger that you get, if you get one like the one shown in the video you do NOT need to do what you mentioned. look for a finger with free-edge . nail supply stores should sell

How did your zoom test go?? I live a couple hours away from my nearest testing site, so I think I’d rather do my test over zoom as well. What is it pretty thorough still, or do you think it would have been a lot different in person?
@@MirandaHerrera-nx1kc It was great! since I get test anxiety it was a lot easier doing it over zoom. It was only 2 of us taking the test and the proctor on the zoom call! It was still pretty thorough , exactly how they would do it if you were to go in person. only difference is you won't have them walking around and coming up to you which I was nervous about . So I knew zoom was the best option for me! Good luck on your test, you got this!! :)

I have mine tomorrow ! 9/03 i’ve been graduated cosmetology since 2014!! I been practicing for over a month now with my cosmetology teacher who helped me! I’m nervous and you do things a little different so i will advice everyone to sanitize everything before touching the table that could count as crossed contamination! Also things that are not “trash” still goes in the bag of the trash, You can NOT add back anything that came out of the clean bag …
This may seem like a dumb question, but for the implements being used, such as the butterfly clips, hairdryer, etc.. does it have to be a certain color? Cause if not all my stuff is gonna be pink😂😂
Another question lol can I put my pre sanitized implements in a zip lock bag instead of the clear box as long as I sanitize every time I go in and out of my zip lock bag or should I just put them in trash after I use them ??
Hello! I have noticed you placed your bag on the table first during the pre examination set up, wouldn’t you sanitize your station before taping the trash to the table and setting the bag down?
You most definitely can disinfect first I go back and forth I did it this way in the video we have had several students disinfect so well that the tape would not stick due to the table being to wet 😅 so yes you can disinfect first either way you will still be 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Hello, I’m preparing for tests based on your videos, I have a question about monomer and polymer over tip service bag, where should I put it after finishing the section?
question… is it required to have sanitizer in every bag if one is already going to be on the table from the pre examination? i don’t want to over purchase supplies.
The sanitizer that is inside the pre exam bag stays on your station the entire time , recommend you see the video of everything i packed in all of the bags 🙂 so you get a better view .
All disposables go into trash or the entire bag can go in bag if you choose, if you put back into your main kit sanitize hands every time and all should be good
Do you know if i am able to use a regular dappen dish for the monomer and then grab my polymer beads directly from the polymer container instead of using a double dappen dish ?

Hi Yes most definitely seems they are fully booked lately lots of grads in the summer . Yes go for it do it virtually. Advice have a cleared clutter free space with a working table and a place for you to put your laptop so they can see you clearly . Make sure no one is there with you and no one interrupts or walks in while you take the test. 🍀🍀🙂
Question? Can the nail buffer have words on it. You know the kind that has step 1-4, as in the order you should buff the nail...or does the buffer have to be plain?
Question, when doing the monomer polymer overlay the first thing you do is clean the table down where do you throw the paper towel you used to wipe it down if the trash bag is not up yet?
They do not require a specific brand what they want is for the monomer to be Odorless and sometimes they do open the bottle to smell it, they also want the bottle labeled odorless by the manufacturer so in other words the students CANNOT label it themselves. Most nail supplies sell odorless kits/ Amazon is another option or Sally’s

hi , none of our students have ever had a problem with them having paper towels in the bag. yes you can take the roll of paper towels if you choose to everyone does something different.
If you are using odorless yes it takes a little longer to dry, but if your waiting to feel a complete dry finish on the nail when you touch it you will not… you have to after letting dry for about 3-4min buff the top layer off to get that sticky film off the nail like I did in the video.
I got my finger and it doesn't have a nail, I added a fake nail to emulate one, is that okay? And what do the examiners check the mannequins for? My school gave us our SB ones and had us do the haircut on it, so should I get a new one?

I give my students the option of taping the bag first to dispose of the trash . If you disinfect before putting the bag on…you just hold on to the paper towel . Try not to over think it everything will be fine.
Your disinfecting before and after each section and trying to keep everything sanitary as long as you do that you will be 👍🏼 do each section the best way you can and all will go great for you!
It’s hard to say the raters are very unpredictable in what they say/do my advice would be to find something to remove as much of the stains on the mannequin before the test. I doubt it’s an issue for it having a little staining but try to remove as much of it if possible 🍀🍀🍀
I’m I reading this correctly can I have a thin layer of acrylic on nail so acrylic nail will stick better the day of test? As long as it’s look natural?

I am taking my practical next week I have two questions. The room that I am taking my test is not hardwood it is carpet . And I don’t have separate table and specific chair for nail is it fine?

Hi I would leave in the kit and only take out if needed. I left the shears and cutting comb out just in case rater wants to check the haircut sometimes they do.
for the primer and dehydrator that you have listed on amazon would you recommend that over the sally beauty secrets dehydrator and and primer and do those not need to be labeled for the test when i went to take the test last year the instructor lady told me that even though its clearly labeled over labeled odorless monomer she said still has to clearly see the under label unless i remember incorrectly , but she said that she was going to let it slide and let me take the test, and other people might not be as nice when she was inspecting at the beginning of the test what do you recommend i do for this time im kinda panicking about it and over thinking it
Hi The ones on the Amazon list I have up just in case someone does not want to purchase the odorless kit from Sally’s sometimes is sold out. But to answer your question for all of the products for the monomer section must be labeled by the manufacturer. No need for you to label if it’s clearly printed on there by the manufacturer 🙂, and your all black clothing and closed toe shoes will be just fine 🍀🍀🍀

I'm worried about the nail section because the PSI paper says don't use a trainer hand.... is that the same thing as the mannequin hand? Because on the list of supplies to not be labeled it says that the mannequin hand or finger prepped with tip [is on the list] I guess to be used...

I’m nervous and you do things a little different so i will advice everyone to sanitize everything before touching the table that could count as crossed contamination! Also things that are not “trash” still goes in the bag of the trash, You can NOT add back anything that came out of the clean bag …

Hello! I have noticed you placed your bag on the table first during the pre examination set up, wouldn’t you sanitize your station before taping the trash to the table and setting the bag down?
You most definitely can disinfect first I go back and forth I did it this way in the video we have had several students disinfect so well that the tape would not stick due to the table being to wet 😅 so yes you can disinfect first either way you will still be 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

question… is it required to have sanitizer in every bag if one is already going to be on the table from the pre examination? i don’t want to over purchase supplies.
The sanitizer that is inside the pre exam bag stays on your station the entire time , recommend you see the video of everything i packed in all of the bags 🙂 so you get a better view .

All disposables go into trash or the entire bag can go in bag if you choose, if you put back into your main kit sanitize hands every time and all should be good

Yes that should be fine . Assuming you have a very small bottle of powder

Just twice at the beginning and end of exam, you might not have a mirror.

Yes most definitely seems they are fully booked lately lots of grads in the summer . Yes go for it do it virtually. Advice have a cleared clutter free space with a working table and a place for you to put your laptop so they can see you clearly . Make sure no one is there with you and no one interrupts or walks in while you take the test. 🍀🍀🙂

They do not require a specific brand what they want is for the monomer to be Odorless and sometimes they do open the bottle to smell it, they also want the bottle labeled odorless by the manufacturer so in other words the students CANNOT label it themselves. Most nail supplies sell odorless kits/ Amazon is another option or Sally’s

hi , none of our students have ever had a problem with them having paper towels in the bag. yes you can take the roll of paper towels if you choose to everyone does something different.
Im not sure what im doing wrong but i cant seem to get my acrylic to dry at all. Any tips?
If you are using odorless yes it takes a little longer to dry, but if your waiting to feel a complete dry finish on the nail when you touch it you will not… you have to after letting dry for about 3-4min buff the top layer off to get that sticky film off the nail like I did in the video.

You can hold it while you tape the your trash bag or tape the trash bag first then disinfect the table and throw away.

I give my students the option of taping the bag first to dispose of the trash . If you disinfect before putting the bag on…you just hold on to the paper towel . Try not to over think it everything will be fine.

my mannequin is a bit old and has blue stains on the face how i have no clue but would they allow that?
It’s hard to say the raters are very unpredictable in what they say/do my advice would be to find something to remove as much of the stains on the mannequin before the test. I doubt it’s an issue for it having a little staining but try to remove as much of it if possible 🍀🍀🍀

If for whatever reason they don’t ask to take it out before starting the test then you can take it out after disinfecting the workstation.

I would leave in the kit and only take out if needed. I left the shears and cutting comb out just in case rater wants to check the haircut sometimes they do.

for the primer and dehydrator that you have listed on amazon would you recommend that over the sally beauty secrets dehydrator and and primer and do those not need to be labeled for the test when i went to take the test last year the instructor lady told me that even though its clearly labeled over labeled odorless monomer she said still has to clearly see the under label unless i remember incorrectly , but she said that she was going to let it slide and let me take the test, and other people might not be as nice when she was inspecting at the beginning of the test what do you recommend i do for this time im kinda panicking about it and over thinking it

The ones on the Amazon list I have up just in case someone does not want to purchase the odorless kit from Sally’s sometimes is sold out. But to answer your question for all of the products for the monomer section must be labeled by the manufacturer. No need for you to label if it’s clearly printed on there by the manufacturer 🙂, and your all black clothing and closed toe shoes will be just fine 🍀🍀🍀

i take my cosmo exam soon and one question i do have is if i need towels, hand sanitizer, trash bag & epa for my pre-exam set up, and i leave it out throughout the test, do i still have to pack towels, hand sanitizer & a trash bag for the monomer and polymer section? i’m not sure if i need to pack that as well even though im leaving those things out from the section before.
You will more than likely not be using the same station, but it’s up to you on how you decide to pack it . 🙂
