You're right, you don't need those "squaring" jigs to put together a cabinet. I've built thousands of cabinets and have done them the way you did. If you cut square they will remain square. If you cut out of square the "jigs" won't magically make the cabinet square and flush. And, you're also right that the backs square up the cabinets. Finally, someone who knows how to build a cabinet. And, surprise, surprise, I didn't see any Woodpecker or Festool in the shop. I think some people think you can't build cabinets without a wall of Festool and Woodpecker products.

Thanks!. I would gladly accept a Woodpecker tool though if given to me. Maybe if a downpour of cash came to me.... But I do own one Festool sander I love. I plan on a vacuum of theirs as I had one and it rocked! Great stuff. But not necessary for cabinet making, really. In my old shop I had one of their routers. Definitely superior. But I didn't use it enough to justify it's cost. I would say great if you do a lot of furniture type stuff.

Using the right blade for that material would help too, an 80 tooth 10” triple chip blade.

I don't recall showing cutting on this video. What blade are you referring to?

When you have cabinets that have multiple compartments oriented adjacent to sides or top and bottom, do you always create separate boxes and screw them together? The alternative is being stubborn about saving space and spanning the distance between two boxes with panels or making a cabinet that is missing one side to be attached to a four sided cabinet. Material savings and maximizing width when it becomes more critical for a drawer to be wider and more useful.
This bathroom cabinet does not require it. Maybe you offset by using half inch when screwing separate boxes together? Just special circumstances and when you feel stubborn enough to do it the hard way?

I think I understand some of what you're saying. I always make separate boxes and then a "shared stile" when there are fixed shelves next to each other. I'm not making furniture that only has 3/4" partitions separating shelving. If that makes sense.

Why do you not use glue when putting the cabinets together?

The strength comes from the screws. It's plenty for the cabinet boxes. I use glue for face frames to attach to the box when doing face frame cabinets. Glue is great for many things but just unnecessary in my method for the boxes. I use to glue the backs on but found that unnecessary too.
