Love your swatch style. That Robins Egg Blue is just stunning. I feel the same like you with getting a special mindset because of the palette. I think that it is awsome to have different palette styles so that we in a way 'connect' differently with the paint - I know it sounds crazy for people who do not enjoy watercolour.
Yes, that’s exactly how I feel! I’m going to save up these more natural specialty palettes for that purpose and even keep them in a different area. I like the idea of it being a whole vibe
Hullo Ela, I think this swatch sheet is a lovely idea! Beam Paints are well made paints. I did not realize at first that you made the swatch sheet! This is a very nice way to swatch new paints and to see how they interact too! I believe Gouache and Watercolor paints differ in the "grind" of the pigments. Gouache is less finely ground so it shows opaque more easily than a watercolor pigment of the same composition that is ground down finer or more times through the process. Gouache often has additional ingredients too. I find it funny that many people label gouache as "just opaque" watercolor paint. I have had the best results with gold or silver paints, if I place an undercoat of the color I wish the metallic color to lean towards. EX: Bright Yellow under gold for a yellow gold or Yellow Ocher under gold for a dense earthy gold.
Thank you, I really enjoyed swatching them this way! And it took just as much time as doing a regular swatch sheet and shows off the colors just as well. And that’s a great idea to prep the background before adding gold. I always do that with acrylics but for some reason, didn’t think of doing that with watercolor
wow these paints look really cool!! 🥰
They’re so cute!! Thank you for watching ☺️
The swatch page is so fun! I love that you let the colorsix in the middle 🥰 and the color selection is so nice!
Thank you! It was definitely more fun to swatch this way rather than just drawing circles and rectangles 😂
