  • Good day wetshavers! I was recently tagged in a video by Ken over at Shave326 regarding the Highlander Shave Challenge. This involves selecting your favorite 1.) Razor 2.) Blade 3.) Brush 4.) Soap 5.) Aftershave
    As you can imagine this is a tricky one, and one which my opinion could change next week! You just never know. BUT, if I had to stick with one setup for the rest of my days, then this setup discussed in the video is the one I would use. It’s flexible, great for just about any occasion, and a crowd pleaser.

    I feel like I have never shaved in my life watching these videos. I still use a basic Harry’s razor and shave cream.

    "Sorry, you sickos..." I *literally* laughed out loud!
    The *only* thing stops me from the Prismatic is the blade gap -- it looks agressive! Like you, I prefer a comfortable, milder razor with a sharp blade. I'm still using my Gillette Super 84 and I really like Feather and Voskhod blades.
    My 1-1-1-1-1 would be Gillette Super 84, Feather, PAA Scentsless, PAA Peregrino, and PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum.
    Have a great week, Tim, and be safe out there.

      Jack Gillespie haha 😂😂😂 don’t let the blade gap intimidate you! It’s INCREDIBLY gentle on the face. I’ve never once felt intimidated by it. The setup you mentioned sounds fantastic! Hope you have a great remainder of your weekend!

    Great video! I was definitely surprised at your picks and I was freaked out as well. There are 3 items on my shelf that I NEVER put away, that I pick up and smell on a regular basis. Those items are Stirling Christmas Eve, Stirling Pumpkin Spice and PAA Atomic Bay Rum in that very jar! I really enjoyed hearing the back stories of your selections. Well Done!

      Sounds like we have similar perspectives when it comes to scents!! There is something to be said about scent memory and what we associate them with. Half the time I pick a soap is because it harkens me back to some great times. Christmas Eve is the DEFINITIVE Christmas scent in my den, takes me there instantly. Pumpkin Spice takes me to October, Halloween, haunted houses, family gatherings, cold winter nights. Same with Atomic Pumpkin and Atomic Bay Rum with PAA! Thanks for stopping by brother! 🍻

    Left a similar comment on a Shaving with Raza vid but putting it here as well to try and get a super-helpful educational tag series started.
    I would *love* to see a vid 1) starting with what factors you value most and least in a razor then 2) showing/discussing which razors you plan to or have let go and which you keep and why, and finally 3) tag others you respect so we can get multiple views from other channels.
    That would be super-helpful for others to learn from your investments/experiences and factor into making more informed razor hunting and purchasing decisions.

    At some point of your wet shaving journey Tim, you have to try a Leresche 51, or 77, (the unicorn as I use to say).
    Leresche razors are a surprising experience. 👌

      On another note I saw your Instagram photos, which are great by the way and I really liked the Ronson and De Haven razors. Consider to do some presentation videos with them, and show us especially how to load new blades in both.

    The Meta-4 is SS.. you still prefer the Prismatic to that PAA offering? If so, why?

    • @TheShavingTulsan
      @TheShavingTulsan  Год назад +1

      They both shave very differently. Though they share similarities in their design, they are very different in size and comfort. The Meta-4 imo feels/looks unwieldy on most handles because the head is so wide. The prismatic is smaller, more traditional in its head size, and I felt much more efficient.

      @The_One_BABA Год назад +1

      @@TheShavingTulsan so I have estimated 30 or so razors… including Konsul, and the Sailor and it is astonishing to me just how excellent the Rockwell 6s shaves… comfort, efficiency, and with minimum blade feel. I would have to also say that about the Razorock Superslant🤷🏼‍♂️.
      Love them all.. but just sayin…
      So what is your current FAV ? Just curious if it’s changed?

    • @TheShavingTulsan
      @TheShavingTulsan  Год назад +1

      @@The_One_BABA I have more razors then I could bother to count at this point lol. For me it usually depends on the mood, but my two favorites are the Razorock Lupo SS and the Rockwell 6S. Very smooth shavers, very efficient. For when I’m feeling nostalgic, either the Gillette Fatboy or Gillette Tech. When I want to shave off a beard or mustache, Prismatic. Rockwell 6S is usually my go-to recommendation for anyone. Newcomers it’s the 6C just because it’s cheaper (and still an amazing shaver).
