Very happy with the screen doors. My opening was 72 1/2” and the screen had a max at 72.. so I just added a 1/2” piece of trim to the outer frame mounding trim on my doors and fit perfectly. Delighted.

Love the door, fairly easy to install. BUT! The step of inserting a Phillips into the adjust slot is done by your Tech with no door in the way. I had less than 5" inches between my door and the adjustment slot. Using a mirror and a stubby Phillips I was eventually able to do what the Tech did. Either I over complicated it, or you should put this step earlier in the mounting process since we don't have open frames to work with like this demo. Otherwise, everything went amazingly smooth and my wife loves the screen door. Thanks

Just installed these onto french doors with a 60" opening. Pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. Didn't even need any silicone as there was *zero* gaps to stop the bugs ! Only mod required was some light sanding of the opening surface to clear a upper passive side button headed screw from fouling. After that - perfection ! You've brought peace to my family :) thanks !

Just installed on our dual French patio doors. Excellent engineering and manufacturing quality. My installation required some added prep work in that our French doors are installed in an unconventional way; with the door jam protruding from the surface of the house about 2". Not a problem since the door is under cover under a patio roof and does not see rain. This forced the customary brick molding to be installed against the stucco, in from the exterior face of the door frame. To install, I needed to use a metal rotary saw to cut off a 1/4" thick piece of metal on both vertical frames, grind the cut down and install the Luminaire directly to the metal of the French door frame (these are wood and clad doors but have a metal sill and exterior frame to receive sliding screen doors.) I bought #8 x 1/2" self tapping screws for the six side frame connection point (very similar to the threshold extender screws provided with this product.)
Our weird installation aside, putting in the Luminaire double screen door product was a breeze. Now we can leave both French doors wide open all night to take in the cool air, then button back up for the daytime. Fun tip: if you release the "passive" screen door first, and then the "active" screen door, they both, in synchrony, automatically retreat into their housings. So much better than traditional rolling screens, these can be left wide open during parties and cookouts (assuming the insects are not a problem). Have at it - no disappointments here!

@@andersenwindows can these be used for out swing doors?

Rick, Did you just buy the regular double door screen and modify it to fit the 60 inches? Also my doors swing outward, so the structure will have to on the inside of my french doors. Also, did the screen hit the french door handles when pulled.

@@Linda-ip8xt I recall that Andersen offers two height variations, but the width was standard 60", which is what we have. I think that their design would also work on a narrower french door. The screens did not conflict with the french door hardware at all. I don't know if the screens can be mounted inside the french doors... suggest talking that over with Andersen. I would think it would work and cosmetically would be fine but check with Andersen first.

See if you can turn the door hinges into inward opening, so you should be fine then.

we’ve had nothing but issues with our screen door, and ours was professionally installed.
first the locking latch stopped functioning. and even though we were still under warranty, the most Andersen would do initially was to say “you bought it at home depot- you need to talk to them”.
after way too much back and forth Andersen agreed to send replacement parts (half the screen door) which i then have to install (they wont install for you). First replacement arrived: box was broken open, and contents were damaged beyond use. note that it looked like the box was opened in transit intentionally, not through just rough handling during shipping. (i say this as I worked at UPS and RPS in college and the loaders would look for valuable content; not a month went by where someone wasn't let go for pillaging packages). Our package in this case was handled by UPS.
So we called in, sent photos via email to show damage. They told us they will send another and to just throw away the broken one. Its 80” long you stupid fucks - that's a special garbage pickup at $25 a pop...
Another arrived 3 more weeks later and guess what? Box opened, contents damaged, delivered by UPS. they said throw it away and we’ll send another. Now I have 2 useless replacement parts - I said no, im gonna post my experience online so everyone knows to stay away from Andersen products (and UPS for shipping). neither care about you, your experience or good customer service. These companies are giant ships crewed by old white men who are playing their favorite game: watching number$ go up.
    Andersen: fuck you.
    UPS: fuck you.
p.s.: if you are offended by this, fuck you. i don't have to be nice about this anymore. you had 2 fucking chances to fix the 1st fuckup. fail, fail, fail. at this point you've not only stolen $600 from me. the collective time and effort spent (pulling me away from dealing with MY business) tallies in the thousands.
At this point I just want the $600 back I paid for the original screen door element. do that (or crikey, solve my issue once and for all) and ill delete my reviews here and on google.

You can add a trim from the top or bottom to have a fit opening.

So basically I just bought this for nothing as it can't be attached to my back sliding glass door. What aware of 200 bucks.
