Brought a 2010 polo and have a key like this thought u can just press the button and it open all doors but I guess you can’t I’m a lil upset thought a plate of 10 would
@@Ollie9T7 So on my polo the button wont unlock/lock the car? As i had just bought this, and been using the key manually, wanting to know if it unlocks via the button. Its a 06 plate
Is LED lamp needed for the car key to work properly? I have same key for my polo. I have changed battery but it still doesn't work. Do I need that lamp inside?
hi i bought a 2002 vw polo but the key fob is not working, I have put a new battery inside , but the LED is missing. Must it have the LED inside for it to function or is it only for aesthetic reasons? Thanks
Bugzie G-N I think of we do what is in this video they should work hopefully. Cos I think the LED is for sending the frequency to the car. DIY task it appears
This video is showing how to replace the bulb in one of these keys for a higher powered LED. It will not effect the way you lock/ unlock the car. It is purely so you can see where to put the key when in the dark. There is no frequency being sent to the car or anything. An LED is purely to emit light.
MissTRetro have you made sure the contacts are touching when you press the button down? I soldered mine (even though the solder didn’t like sticking to the metal components)
Excellent video sir 👏
Thank you for the quick explanation
Yes the LED if for you to see where the keyhole is nothing more.
Hello, is there anyway I can just replace the plastic casing of my key? It’s damaged so I want to replace it
I was trying to change the battery the Iost that LED bulb , will the key need to programed for replacing new LED bulb? Please. Help 😢
i got the battery, changed it still didnt work --.--
So does the button on the key also unlock and lock the central locking?
Nope, just a light
@@Ollie9T7 what’s the point of that? Just a light?😂
@@Paul-ui3ri to find the keyhole to unlock the car in the night😅
@@Ollie9T7 Well crap...
To think a 2007 polo s doesn’t have remote locking but older vw’s do 🤷🏻♂️ jokes on them. I have a LED on my key 🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️
good video. quick question, can you remove the actual key blade and attach it to a new she'll?
no
No. You'll have to get a new key and then get it cut to suit your old one if you need a new key.
You can obviously swap the logo and the other half of the key if its just for cosmetic purposes

If the led is broke that means the central locking won't work?
Nope, the key electronics has nothing to do with the central locking
@@Ollie9T7 What does the button do then? Is it central locking or alarm
@@anemicbeats in the video, the button is for a light. That’s is all.

What does this key do...just make a light?
yeah, so you can find the key hole when in the dark
Can you lock or open the doors with it?
I have replaced the battery and the 3mm led.only light is flashing.any more programming?

could i use the new vw golf cl 2003 key? because i lose the original key.
im not sure. if the internal shape looks the same then i guess so. I not sure about the fit of the key in the door or ignition barrel though
Can you please give us the type of the led light and where to find it .The URL you use is not showing the light.
Thank you
I have updates the description. I hope this helped
What is the cost of the led bulb?
It's just any 3mm led. You can usually get 100 for €/$/£2 on eBay
Is LED lamp needed for the car key to work properly? I have same key for my polo. I have changed battery but it still doesn't work. Do I need that lamp inside?
no its not. its simply a light source
You probably don't have the car or fixed it by now , but it might be the immobilizer
Wait, so what does it do? Does the button unlock the door?
it is just a light, so you dont scratch the door
John K ohhh, so this key can't work as a remote? Just as a key/immobilizer?
It's not so stupid if you have no remote unlocking.
What battery os that?
👉 v 625 u
can u tell me the type of the bulb inside ???
its a 3mm, constant, white led

No. Bulb is just a light. So you cann't miss the door lock, or ignition lock ;)
as the battery is 3V your led or bulb should be 3v.....originally it is a bulb but an 3V LED if wired correctly will work just as well
