    Back in the 1980s i had a honda 250cc superdream,and the wheels on that were aluminium, and they were perfect in everyway,so easy for cleaning,and look so sports cool.

    Great work! Cleaning old parts can take forever, but is definitely worth the effort. Look at that rim shine! Clean hub, new spokes and that new tire....wow! Looks really nice.

    Great video, thanks for making it. I was getting lost on which spikes go where. Makes sense inner and outer.
    Thanks

    Nicely done, sir! Always good to see maintenance get done the right way.
    BTW, Have you seen that video where the guy uses industrial zip ties to mount a tire? Make's it look so easy...

    You are a very versatile man, Mr Smoak!....did you replace the brake shoes as well?
    It must have had a pretty tough life before you got it... what a shame people do not take better care of their stuff... Have a great day - Cheers - Dallas

      Lol, thanks Dallas! I waited on replacing the shoes as the collar between the wheel bearings was not correct. It was made up of an old 2-stroke piston pin and a spacer. This was spacing the shoes in the drum incorrectly, so I temporarily put the old shoes back on until the new OEM collar comes in next week.
      It never ceases to amaze me what bikes go through... I guess whoever did this was just trying to get it going for their kids, but you'd think they'd go back and correct it. I find that a lot of people take poor care of their bikes, only to freak out on the dealer when it fails or go on to badmouth that brand of bike needlessly. Some simple preventetive maintenance is much cheaper and easier to do in the long run...

    I think this is why they invented mag wheels. I have done this in the past but it was a pain and I never got it right at first.

    Hi Shawn! You made a real nice job of that Honda bike wheel,it look brand new when you finshed it. How much would it cost if you to buy a new wheel? As thats what i be thinking! Them spokes dont look easy! Thanks nice video.

    Looks great. Only thing I noticed is a dry and dirty chain. But then again, it's just a dirt bike. Tcrs. :)

      @ShawnSmoak  9 лет назад

      Thanks Richard! The chain isn't as dry as it appears, but it is due for a cleaning and relube...

    Waaaaaaaaay too technical for my wee brain that kind of thing mate. I can barely lace my shoes. ;o)

    leave the tire lay out in the sun for a couple hours and it should get soft enough to let you work it on easier. Granted it'll be hot as hell so you have to watch yourself but still, gloves are a thing.
    was that the wrong wheel bearing or what?
