My New Ice fishing Rod for Crappie (3 Types of Ice fishing Setups for panfish)

This video discusses the three different types of Panfish rods used for ice fishing. The first type of ice fishing rod is most commonly called a noodle rod designed for jigging small 1/32 to 1/96oz jigs for crappie and bluegill. The sensitive rod tip loads up with the smaller jigs and then unloads when a fish (crappie or bluegill) bites the jig and keeps rising in the water column. This is called a negative bite.
The second style of ice fishing rod is an accessory called a spring bobber that is attached to heavier jig rods meant for walleye or bass. The spring bobber turns the heavier jig rod's tip into a sensitive strike indicator, which is great for crappie and bluegill.
The third type of panfish rod is the soft tip or quick tip ice rod which has a sensitive rod tip similar to the noodle rod, but has enough backbone to jig spoons, lip-less crank baits, and blade baits. The soft tip or quick tip ice rod can be used for jigging small tungsten jigs and can handle the larger search baits like spoons and lip-less crankbaits.
