- I sat down and looked through every single uniform you can use in Madden 24 relocation teams and have graded them all so you don't have to! This is a long one because I do quite a bit of ranting and give my thoughts on the current state of relocation in Madden 24.

The fact that this is all we're left with when back in Madden 12 you could literally make your own team, with your own logo, your own custom uniform, custom name, custom stadium, everything. We literally had more options 12 years ago

Agreed, there's a lot of lack creativity overall. But to me they should at least make reasonably easy for players of Bygone/moved teams to live out their fantasy of teams being there. So I am not sure why with the Oilers you make it easy to either switch the Texans name to Oilers, wear the old jersey and off you go
Also most the jerseys, but mostly I noticed with Oilers cuz its the first one, look like those late 90's/Early 00's old navy collared shirts

I’ve always loved the Explorers but out of the ones we have now I like the simplicity of the Voyagers. I agree with most of your points, makes me miss the customization of Madden 08 I had as a kid
The Riverhogs were my favorite team to relocate to the last handful of Maddens. This uniform looks horrible compared to last year’s uniforms. They should change it back to last year’s uniform to save it.
They should make it to where we can create our own it makes no sense nhl has had for 15 years
Agreed. Although my Madden24 still has the old relocation uniforms. I've had no luck with trying to figure out why... if anyone has an answer let me know. I spent the money on this game specifically for new uniform options. Otherwise I would've kept playing 23.

Shamrocks
Thunderbirds
Lots of good options with them, however Shamrocks and Golden Eagles are weird cause they make no sense outside of Ireland and Mexico, so I probably won’t ever use them.
The pants for the shamrocks have celtic knots which is a staple of Irish religion and culture you can find them in Irish catholic crosses and other religious pendants, they originated in ancient Ireland pre Christianity, and were included in Christianity to make conversion easier
That’s a cool way to tie that in. Definitely can’t put them anywhere except Dublin now 😂
I like the Mounties alternate because it follows the color scheme of an actual Canadian Mountie… but I don’t know why it’s not the default
The Mounties have one of the best helmets in the game and could have had some of the best unis. Just could NOT get past the random white circles on the shoulders 😂
I think what they went for with the logos on the helmet, is to make it look like the face of the logo's is the face of the player. Could be good with some of the logos, but others just looks terrible. Especially when its not cut out correctly. The bisons logo couldnt even tell without looking at it for ages that I realised that it was the full logo. They should have went with the horns cut out like the logo on the Vikings helmet.
With the Oilers uniform, I think it’s primarily red due to the Titans classic uniform they launched this year. I think they probably wouldn’t be allowed to use the classics because the titans owner doesn’t like properly sharing the classic look or IP just because they are greedy.

This is what happens when the job is given to someone that, enthusiastically, does not know what they are doing. With the variety of college and professional uniforms (throughout history) from which to draw inspiration...this is what we get. Were I them, I would remain infamously anonymous.
This is probably going to be my favorite video for the entire madden 24 year. I agree with everything you say about teams left out vs some kept. So stupid.. and the quality control from EA is laughable… speaking of laughing… you had me rolling the entire video… my family kept looking at me as I busted out laughing… especially when your reaction to the “average joes” uniform. Keep up the great content!

I think the reason for the “colorless” socks is more just the trend of players and teams are wearing in general. We are seeing more and more players now ditch colored socks for more simple colors. Most notably Players on Teams with white pants are wearing white socks instead of the team color socks. Newer teams uniforms are ditching color socks as well especially on away sets. Even the bills are ditching the striped socks for either white or solid blue

Is the weather affected by the city you choose like in original cities? For instance if I pick Portland would it rain more or if I pick a city like Salt Lake City would it snow certain times during the season ?

It’s supposed to but there have been issues in the past with weather. Rain won’t change but snow may fall more frequently in certain areas.

They really need to do what 2K has done with expansion/relocation teams and let us customize everything from the logo, stadium and uniforms. They've clearly shown that they can't do better themselves lol

43:10 as a coder I can explain why they use the buccaneers template. It is sorta intentional so yes and no. What likely happened here was that they need a working "model" in this case uniforms to make the madden relocation uniforms. If I had to guess, there is no universal "model" to where you can branch of and make all 32 nfl teams uniforms from that universal model which is stupid imo. So all 32 teams have 32 different uniform models. So for the relocation teams, it would require them to make new models for all the relocation teams which is a lot of time and effort to make from scratch so it would be faster to just copy a random already made model(in this case the bucs) and modify it with new colors patterns etc. For all intents and purposes, its works fine if you do that and there should be no issues and copy and pasting is like 90% of what your doing as a coder so its a common practice. however you will run into some occasional problems because your using a model that was meant for another team so you just need to revise it very carefully. Basically they use the bucs template because it allows them to make the different uniforms faster, you just copy and past then modify and your done quicker than making a brand new model. But it isnt intentionally the bucs

1:14:56 they were a NFL Europe team. NFL Europe was around in the 90’s and early 2000’s. As I recall, one of the old uniforms was close to a later NFL Europe Monarchs uniform.

Well done on this video mate, i know how much of a huge effort this would have been and time consuming. Regarding your rant..you are 100% right. EA is a steaming dumpfire who doesnt care about franchise players but we already knew that. Lets just cross our fingers and toes they lose the exclusive license after 2024. Keep up the great work mate
1:45:48 those are Celtic knots. Probably there since it is associated with the Irish and to go along with the logo design.
I agree with everything you said, but I do miss my Egyptians. They had some of the cleanest uniform. Also, elks and antlers are pretty much the same thing.
As someone who has switched to using the Mounties in this madden, the jerseys have grown enough on me to make that section hurt. Besides that, hit after hit after hit. So many great jerseys ruined and even deleted, but some are still usable and are making some progress. Love the video and Im glad theres others that share this love for Madden customization!
for what its worth, I love most of the Mounties set up aside from that shoulder section 😂

While Im still going to trudge forward with an alternate league save this year with these teams, I cant stress also how much it pains me EA decided to take away 17 other options, some of them "original" relocation teams.
I cant argue with the jersey/uni ratings here and this is from someone who plans on opening his save with the Brooklyn Sentinels.
I would like to point out, you CAN double up in cities in the US region should you want to stay in house or have a team or two in Canada/Mexico.
I.e. Brooklyn Sentinels are going into the NFC North while the Brooklyn Bulls (not 100% with that decision) go in the AFC North.
Im still mapping out divisons and teams.
Most are underwhelming though and the biggest save is having the ability to make a whole new league.
Yeah even though there is a lot of bad there is still a few good ones!
To fix the oilers, maybe mix the alternate jersey with the home pants?
Tysm for breaking this all down. The relocation option is my favorite part of the video game. I feel like most of the uniforms look terrible. The older uniforms where we had a option between three different options was a lot better uniforms then these new ones. The new helmets with big logo looks so bad & the worst thing about it all is that all the numbers fonts r the same that’s absolutely so lazy of EA.
Yeah I’m hoping it’s just a start and they plan on adding to it or something but really last attempt for sure!
The Pioneers actually wouldn’t be terrible if they made the font smaller on the sleeve and just went with solid socks and different color pants
Does anyone ever just keep the present uniforms? I always mix and match jerseys and pants to make what looks best
The Armadillos helment looks like they made it out of part of the hood from a late 70's early 80's Pontiac Firebird.
42:48 when doing practices in some of the older Maddens, I would sometimes get Buccaneers uniforms instead of the team uniforms. Sometimes same for drafting as a relocation team.
As well as just the traveling schedule to all of these out of the US sites, think of the monetary impact. Baseball struggled with this for years with the Montreal Expos and Toronto Blue Jays. Do players get paid in USD? How to they get taxed?
What Madden should have done is keep those stadiums for an alternate, neutral site game that a couple of random teams get every year, just like they currently do, and then give a lot more options inside the US. The only outside the US locations that make sense are Mexico and Canada.

I think they didn’t have the powder blue for the oilers bc the titans are able to wear them, and they don’t want 2 teams with the exact same jerseys playing each other. That being said, I get the frustration and they definitely could’ve done it better

They need to revamp the uniforms attached to this relocation process... all of the uniforms ( Teams ) are using the same number font...

If you play on last gen I was told none of the new stuff was added to those consoles.
yea the Monarchs were an old WFL team before being part of NFL Europe in the mid to late 90s team folded in I believe 1998 and then were replaced by the Berlin Thunder in 1999.
I think the lumberjacks should’ve had an alternate jersey that was flannel pattern to match the helmets lol

I love the possibility to relocate to Rio (finally) but am very disappointed with these team logos, names, and uniform options.
I owned a copy of Madden 2005 collectors edition and feel that to this day it had more customization choices than many modern sports games.
Imo, it was the best Madden game we ever got. (with 2001, 2004, 2010 and 2021 also being in my top 5).
I remember playing those old games and miss the customization it offered for sure!
I miss the Bulls in Brooklyn, and 23's version of the Orlando Sentinels (though it's such a big in-joke that they can't explain; the local newspaper is the Orlando Sentinel. And I mean local to EA Tiburon, I drive by them on the way to Target).
the Thunderbirds actually remind me of the old Washington Unis but modern (not like the Commanders)
Shamrocks pants have the Celtic Cross theme. Loads of them in Wales and Cornwall.

I think you should be able to mismatch the jersey home and away pants and helmets to make the uniforms look somewhat bearable in game! Lol, there are work arounds for these jerseys to look aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately, you have to work just a tad bit harder! Lol.

Also 1:28:40 The orbits are two toned blue so I'm not sure what you mean when you say the developers didn't update to the lighter tone correctly? Looks correct to me. Both blues are accounted for.
Yeah I’m very crabby in this video. I am not happy with how the relocation stuff was done for the new game and wanted to share my true opinions.
@CBGamingYT7 I feel ya. Overall I believe the game is actually better than the year before which is something I haven't said in many editions. Maybe not the relocation though which is okay because I'm only gonna use it once or twice for my franchise. I believe it's time for the eagles to become the golden eagles and the Los Angeles chargers to become the Portland lumber jacks. And maybe the commanders to the condors.
But yah those completely zoomed in logos on the helmets were driving me crazy after a while.

I know you’re not talking about it but I think they owe old gen users like myself an apology. Since what madden 2010 they made no updates or changes to madden (just copy and paste) and when Madden 24 comes out, they make the changes for new Gen only

And thanks for calling out EA and shitting on all their horrible decisions removing logos/teams, adding nothing new of real value, and their atrocious design decisions of many of the uniforms. I also absolutely HATE the blown up logos on the helmets.

Thunderbirds and Condors are probably my favorites. Only improved jerseys are the Golden Eagles. Shame they butchered so many of the previously solid options. It feels like there's maybe only 5-7 options I'd actually be okay with choosing.

I've used the Huskies in several Madden games.. 21-23 relocating Washington.... and I always loved their unis but that new one makes me wanna throw up

EA needs to get it together because these logos are still available in the Xbox one edition because I am running a franchise as the Celtic Tigers at the moment

Literally the first thing I noticed once the actual uniform grading started (8:09) was that the people in the crowd look ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I mean seriously, those eyes are some serious nightmare fuel.
I actually liked the Bisons old uniforms. The new helmet is trash. The Thunderbirds are ok. I liked the black-on-black better for them. I'm still playing M23 because of the free weekend XBox gave us. I like the why some of the motions are in the new one better, but it still seems majorly off.
I hate that you can't relocate to Washington DC, i wanted to turn the commanders to the Washington Caps

Unfortunately they were included in the 17 logos that Madden deleted from the game
The bisons alternative uniform looks like the Florida gaters uniform
I don’t hate the logo placement on the armadillos because it makes it look like the players face is the armadillo head. Other than that it sucks. But I doubt any of that placement was intentional and probably just poor photoshop. They could have done a bengals-esque pattern with the armadillo “banding” to make it look like the helmet was an armadillo shell.

Also, total BS to remove the Diablos, they literally could've just reskinned the Vikings helmets.
Kind of agree on the international cities being added. Mexico, Canada, and Puerto Rico make perfect sense, but the rest are kind of bizarre.
Just bring back CREATE A TEAM for heaven's sake, or at least a jersey editor.
My weird issue with the Lumberjacks, was that the Pioneers logo always made a bit more sense for the team name

I always see untucked jerseys & multiple jersey selection when you relocate but my madden 24 still doing madden 23 shit 😂 somebody help it says it’s up to date but I only got 2 uniform selections on my recollection no alternate

i don't like the pants without stripes though. i know they are popular now. but i think they should have a few teams with the Steeler type stripes or even the Raiders single black stripe... i think the Dreadnoughts alternate are the BEST of all uni's

I’m not gone lie some of these or a minor upgrade to the ones last year but it’s definitely time for a change new teams and colors scheme and maybe come with there own stadium 🤷🏾♂️ that would be nice to have instead of the same options like why give so many different places to play but not give more stadium options

How do you not notice the Bulls secondary color on all the accessories is red!!! The home shoes are black and red the sleeves are red the wristbands are red and they literally have 0 red in their uniforms!!
Everything being connected to the Buccaneers probably explains the helmets, they're the one's who chose to go with the dumb oversized logo look in real life. And it's probably because the Buccaneers are the closest NFL team to EAs Orlando studio that handles the Madden development.
