I do have him as a friend on facebook but had no idea about what he was going through and I'm very shocked to hear of his passing so young. I knew your Dad, though slightly older, he was a one man band at times. I always thought his humour was his strength in adversity and would carry him through life. I can see he raised a lovely daughter which speaks volumes. So sad for your loss and I hope in time you heal and embrace what a lovely guy he was. x
Hey I can relate to what you are going through genuinely because my dad also passed away 1 month before my 23rd birthday. He also had drink issues because of how certain things unfolded in his life which weren’t his fault. Mental health is such a big topic and some people cope in different ways but drinking or using substances to cope is such a destructive way to end your life. I drank for so long after my dad passed away because I thought it was my fault and I could have done more to help him when he was here. Your Dad would be so proud of you as his daughter for all you have done and I’m sure you will continue to make him proud and keep his spirit alive. The only thing you can do is live for your Dad as he would want you to embrace this world and live for him. The pain will never go away or subside and your emotions will be everywhere for a long time. But just know that this is normal as grieving your Dad will be forever but you will find a way because you have your Dad’s spirit in you. All the best. And god bless.

He was always so funny, full of life and making everyone laugh Your video is so open, honest and sends a powerful message about the awareness of mental health and it’s so sad to know that your dad was struggling so much with his. Very sad news Charlotte. I knew Steve well and we both followed a similar path..I am saddened to hear he has lost the battle..in every sense. I’ve known him a good number of years and I know he struggled as did I. We went to support meetings together in 2018 and I then moved away for a couple of years to concentrate on my recovery, I feel bad that he went on to the bitter end. So sorry 😔🙏
