Welcome to TabaLALA Land as i't's a pleasure to bring you this selection of tracks that aren't yet online from one of our all time favourite bands, Tabala. Headed up by zouk legend and frontman Maurice Agad, this incredible group released 10 volumes concurrently in 1986. Across these amazing albums you can find not only a series of absolutely beautiful album covers, but also an extraordinary variety of different styles of Afro-Caribbean music. From soukous to makossa, zouk to soca, coladera to salsa, merengue and beyond...each volume is made up of a different genre! This is not only a uniquely original idea, but also an extremely impressive feat of technical prowess and skill. As their albums become increasingly rare, Discothèque Tropicale founder 'JOSH FB' is proud to be one of the few people to own all 10 releases, a much cherished collection of beautiful looking and sounding records!
Here we kick things off with their second volume "Zouk New Look" - where Tabala display their unique spin on the zouk genre, complimented by a smattering of soul and reggae. Gorgeous guitar licks, sumptuous horns and excellent vocals make this a touching tribute to the GOAT of reggae, the titular 'Bob Marley'
