Dude fr the snappy crispness of the snare here is all i hear when I go for the regular version...Might as well stick with this one for now. Original is EL RUINEDO for me. Because this is far superior.
This song sounds absolutely great live. My only complaint is that the guitars are playing the verse an octave lower than in the album so it doesn’t sound quite as good. Idk what the reason is. Thanks for this, I couldn’t be there (I live in Indy) and Fort Wayne is a little bit of a drive 😂
I live in Indy too! Saw them here last summer and really wanted to see them on this tour and this was probably my only shot for the rest of this year at least

What is happening here is he is singing the "album quiet parts" at "concert audible level" Deftones does this a lot. Like the whisper parts to My Own Summer well ok Chino does that louder in concert to be heard, he just feels the album version is just too quiet, JD here can choose from several different styles actually and has chosen this. Not b/c he's sick at all. No.

Yeah the mixing on Requiem is awful. His snare sounded much better on The Nothing.

The studio version has a synth-like guitar higher part, which is simply not played here. The studio version does have the low octave part as well.
@@Jubidar i understand that, but it also has the high octave, so no synth and no higher octave sounds really strange and a little muddy even.
