    You rock! Been quilting for over 30 years on Berninas and never hemmed pants. I’m ready thanks to you, thank you!

    Nice!
    I’m also impressed the 10 yo slacks still fit, lol ❤️
    I just purchased the L 890. So smooth!

    Gayle this is so helpful, you are so kind to show using the basting stitch way to hem. I have ironed in an extra fold for years for blind hemming and this looks like a much more accurate way to do the blind hem. I am a man and hem my own pants and your video is a big help. Thank you Gayle.

    Awesome tutorial! I only needed one practice run and then successfully hemmed 4 pair of pants in one evening. They look as nice (maybe even nicer??) as when I used to pay a tailor to do this for me. Thanks for teaching me a new skill!!

    Again, a wonderful tutorial. Thank you so much for all you do. Oh, btw. I love that quilt with the black cat in the background.

    The hot hemmer (HH)is fantastic tool. Perfect tool for FPP when coupled with Add a quarter ruler. Want crisp 45 degree bends in your binding? Press them using the HH ruler. It is also a great general purpose measuring and marking tool as it is lightweight and accurate. Another great fine, strong poly thread is Wonderfil's Decobob (80wt) and Invisifil (100wt)

    I have never seen a better instructional on this foot. I feel a little more confident about doing it, but am still quite nervous if that makes sense. I have always hemmed pants by hand because I never understood the use of this foot. Cross your fingers for me.

    First time watching your videos. You're hilarious. You remind me of a cross between Mary Tyler Moore and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia!)

    Hi Gail. I tried to use that foot & I think I used the wrong plate because the needle broke! After the machine refused to sew! So which plate do we use?

      There is the straight stitch plate & the 9mm embroidery one (purple mark). My machine is B590. Which is wider? The embroidery one?

    Since you are doing a cuff, why didn't you utilize the free arm feature of the L890?

    • @BERNINAofNaperville
      @BERNINAofNaperville  3 года назад

      Thank you for your comment. The pants had a large opening and I didn’t think it was necessary. I wanted to focus on the blind hem rather than the overlocking. We also did not use the free arm on the sewing machine because of my decision mentioned above.
