Thanks for your honest opinions. I love my pair and find them to fit great and even the insole is comfy. Might have to upgrade the insoles and get even more comfort. Btw, they look outstanding in my honest opinion.
I know this a older video but I just bought these as my first ever pair of boots and I so mind blown by the quality and fit these boots are. I am so happy with these. I have wide feet and these fit so good. I wanted round toes and I tried 10 different boots and still couldn't fit.
Own these and love them. So I thought I would pick up the heritage roughstock as well. They don’t compare while they look so similar. The heritage roughstock has excess material making walking clunkier. They have no liner inside like the sports so a less premium feel that will rub. I also noticed that the small difference in height actually matters. The taller sports look better in trousers and jeans with less bunching. The heritage roughstock had more heel slip than my sports too while being the same size. It may be a bunch of little things but overall add up to a boot I rarely wear and continue to rock the sports.
Honestly I think this boot looks really good. The thinner cut is super sharp and flatter while still keeping a square toe. It's a shame it doesn't hold up in the consistency category.
Not a bad looking boot. I don’t mind the look of the narrower square toe with the single stitching around the welt. Ariat really does need to standardize the naming so that the insoles with the same name are the same. They are doing the consumer as well as themselves a disservice because 2 people could have very different views on the “same” insole by name but could definitely be talking about two very different insoles that are just named the same. Too bad they didn’t fit you Jeremiah but good luck to all who enter to win the 11.5 B width boot. Nice job of pointing out the details Jeremiah. You help so many people through your thorough reviews. 👍👍
Thanks Carol! I agree. One of Ariat's weaknesses in my opinion is the fact they have the same names for different things. I hope they clarify to some extent in the future because they do make an affordable boot for lots of people!
The green 4lr insoles are actually the old style of their 4lr insoles, they recently revamped all their insole styles, but a few boot styles are still getting pushed out with old stock until they run out of em
Plus points to Ariat for offering more widths, minus points for the insole confusion. Just give them a different name. Good luck to everyone entering the give away.
i recently bought the black square toe ariat roper boots they're amazing most comfortable boots I've ever worn then i bought the fiddle brown colored ariat sport western boots they are also square toed except have a mesh lining and not leather inner lining and also have the china 4lr i actually find both boots to be EXTREMELY comfy but I'm also flat footed with wide feet though. i choose d width coz ee is too wide but i can't fit b widths without pain anyhow i agree a leather lined inside is much better not as hot as mesh plus just feels so nice and looks so nice. i have big calves and can't ever get traditional cowboy boots over my legs sadly with the high shafts. i think next I'm get the ariat ropers in round toe both brown and black and maybe the black ariat sport westerns. took me awhile to get used to a square toe look but to anyone who likes square toe the black leather square toe ariat ropers are indescribably comfy!!! i wanted em in brown also but the ariat square toed ropers in brown are fully outa stock in their website sadly hope they didn't discontinue em ariat's square toed roper is literally the best boot I've ever bought comfortable beyond belief
Great Video, I’ve been watching a lot of your Videos for Boot Intel since I’m shopping on line unfortunately for a new pair of daily drivers. I just sent back a pair of Dan Post Albuquerque because they were to large in 12w, I wear a 13 tennis shoe so yeah what the heck??... I’m down to an Ariat Groundbreaker and a Durango Rebel but have never owned a Durango Boot and have Spine and Back issues so I’m looking for something kind of softer. The Albuquerque I have to say was amazing comfortable. Thank you for the videos and Information and stay safe, Semper Fidelis
@@JeremiahCraig Let's see a got them in August of 2018 and I got rid of them this summer because it felt like I was walking on an ocean whenever I wore them because the heels were so worn out.
I have these boots and have yet to find a pair of pants where the boot shaft doesn't print through it. My other pair of Ariat R Toes I can wear with tight jeans and you can't see the shaft, whereas these sport square toes print through my wranglers!
Thanks for the info. It will be a minus- for Ariat for the miss leading insoles Chinese made 4LR 👎. Also I wouldn’t doubt Ariat company got cheap on the materials for the 4LR insoles in China, just to save money in production. Industry (Bad reputation for its own company)
It's a tough call. As annoying as it may be not being able to determine which 4LR you will get, the price is right for that. It's a give and take to some extent
Seems like Ariat is aiming this boot for a specific customer type. Nothing at all wrong with that, it is a good business practice to identify discrete market segments and aim products at that group. A risk Ariat is running is if / when potential customers come to assume all Ariat boots are of similar manufacture quality. I wonder if Ariat provide any reseller training? It’s obviously a risk Ariat feel able to manage. If a less expensive boot expands the boot market that is a great outcome. Less expensive today may translate into more overall sales or future sales at a higher price as hopefully the customer learns and becomes more discerning. This practice works for wrist watches, fountain pens, alcohol, cars, jeans, and so forth. Inconsistent sizing in the brand is unacceptable. As is using the same name for same item from different manufacturers - unacceptable. Especially as it’s reasonable to expect at least a few boot owners will want to order new boots online using the size of their current Ariats or order replacement insoles. Anyway, good on Ariat.
I agree. Ariat makes cowboy boots approachable for many different people thanks to their price point and comfort. I can understand why that would come with some disadvantages like inconsistent insoles and other features depending on what factory the boots came from
Waiting to see what he says as I look at the same boots across my living room. They are comfortable if you put a different insoles in them I have under armour 4d football in soles in them
I feel like after chisos came out with that insile everyone who uses removable insoles is revamping their insoles. The only ones who aren't seem to be those still using hard leather or the cloth/foam insoles
Jeremiah! I need some help man. Im on the hunt for my first pair of real deal cowboy boots and I found los altos. Everything about them seems good on paper, all leather construction down to the piping and insole, what looks like 30 or 40 wood pegs and nails on the bottom, and at a good price. I can't find any decent reviews or pictures of a used pair to see how they hold up. I know you went to their facility with yeehaw cowboy guy. Can you comment on the quality of these boots from what you saw there?
They just started making rhose in b widths because they started making that style in 2015.You would be an 11b in those, they fit my 10.5d foot in a 10d.The insole forms to your foot really good after a while too.
I have a pair of China mades with the insole you show as the Mexican made. I think China runs out of the good ones and then takes the cheap looking flat insoles. I do not like the fact that Ariat produces in China.

They do look good and switching out the insoles would be easy!
OK Jeremiah I entered, looking forward to the live stream!!! 👢👢👢
Sweeeet! Good luck! See you then
Love the breakdown! Ariat should definitely get more consistent with sizing and advertising.
Totally! Thanks for making this video possible

Dan Post had the same problem with their Soft Strike. It's not cool
Plus points to Ariat for offering more widths, minus points for the insole confusion. Just give them a different name.

Totally agree that the insole naming is very confusing for the consumer.
My thoughts exactly!
They are my size(I hope) and I like the look and would dearly enjoy rocking them around town. Thanks
Good luck! Looking forward to these going to a good home!
I own the Sport Sidewinder boot. Basically the same but red uppers and pull on loops. I like em.

I had a pair of those boots. They only lasted me about a year. Good looking boots I just wish they had better soles and heels. The heels are hollow.
That's a shame. They should've lasted longer

@@cowboycody8094 how? the heel is hard rubber, it shouldnt bend too much. did you put them to good use or what?
I use to have a pair that looks exactly like those but I gave them to a cousin and now I'm kicking myself. I think I found my next pair of boots.
There we go! You're a nice person to give boots like these to your cousin!

What Jean fit are these
Now I have to see if my version of these boots have the Mexican or Chinese 4LR insoles.
It's confusing right?!
@@JeremiahCraig Yeah.
@@JeremiahCraig So I looked at the insoles of my Sport Square Toe boots. They have the same ones as yours.
Has anyone explained the difference between the different insoles and what the names mean yet?
