I blew out my knee and can't walk for the first time in my life, kind of scared and what a blessing it is to be able to binge watch your beautiful videos from my bed with my two faithful cats. I may just have to do some needlework myself. Thank you and keep them coming!
Oh, how frustrating! I had a knee injury years ago, so I know how it feels. Great idea to find a project to keep your hands busy. I hope you recover well from this. Thank you for your video appreciation too. 😊
Thank you for sharing and being honest. You found a lovely place for some much needed quiet rest to restore your soul and enjoy. I adore your videos! Thanks for taking us along!
You are so welcome and it's nice to hear you enjoyed seeing how I spent a bit of time away from my home. I thought it was such a special place. Of course, due to the setting, but also because everything seemed simple and without complications.
What a wonderful place. My husband can drop me there any time. :) I watched your video while hand stitching my quilt. My sewing machine is in storage till we are finished with our renovation. But I love making my quilt from start to finish all by hand. It is a lot more work but it also very meditative. I hope someone at the estate brought you home when you were locked out. Or at least lend you some wellies for the walk home. :) Thank you for another lovely video. Greetings from France. Bisous.
It was a great place for getting away...slightly odd to watch everyone drive away and leave me amongst the trees. In the beginning, I felt like Cameron Diaz in The Holiday when she arrived at the cottage, but it didn't take long to wind down. I've done one hand piecing quilt, it took me four years to finish but my mind has been ticking over and I think you've inspired me to do another one! BTW, thankfully they drove me back.
After running around doing chores all morning, your trip through the countryside was just what I needed. How beautiful! Whether quilt or pheasant! You have such a natural art for showing beauty!
How exciting to see one of your videos pop up a bit earlier than usual. What a lovely getaway 😊. Such a beautiful part of the world - gorgeous trees, garden and grounds. 💕🌸
Wonderful but made me cry for some reason. Life can feel overwhelming and even scary at times. I am not sure I would even have felt brave enough to do this alone trip. Your videos always bring joy.
Thank you for sharing your feelings. Although the views from my windows were unobstructed, the rear of the property was in view of the main house. The estate is also private and only open to the owners and guests, which gave me peace of mind. I'm not very brave though, so despite there being beautiful woodland and river walks, I kept to the tracks in view of the main house. It's a shame personal safety has had to become so necessary and probably essential these days.
What a beautiful place. And how wonderful that you felt happy there all alone. I don't think I would have felt as calm as you! What sort of reception did you get, turning up in pyjamas and socks?? I hope they have you a lift back!!
Everything is lovely. I especially loved the walled garden. There must be an army of gardeners who maintain it. If it were my garden I’d be out there puttering every day. This one seemed trimmed, ready for autumn, and empty of any gardeners. Also, I’m impressed by the huge size of some of the trees. They must be hundreds of years old. I see why the gentlemen in the Regency novels I read often mention going to their shooting lodges in Scotland to hunt pheasant! Thanks for bringing us along on your own “pheasant shoot.”
Your last sentence made me laugh! I went to the garden early in the morning as the sun was coming up. It was very peaceful. I think they have one groundsman and one gardener. The fruit trees were amazing, and the high walls would protect them well during winds. Now I want to replan my garden. 🤔
Lovely place to unwind. Wish I could find an escape. I suffer from the same overwhelming tasks as you. Repair work, hard chores around the property ... and now with Autumn here and winter so close, there's even more chores.. So I understand why you needed a break. ... I'm glad you were able to escape and find that healing, peaceful time.
It's the first time I've ever done something like that, and it was wonderful to completely switch off and feel unburdened. Now I'm back, I'm telling myself to be more realistic with what I can achieve, but that's easier said than done. Let us both find inner peace with our workloads ;-)
Beautiful . . . and what amazes me is that places I watch videos from, like the UK, France, Portugal, etc., all look like places in Ohio USA. Especially the southern part of Ohio. We live in the country in Wood County, which is in the Northwest. I have always loved this land because it is mostly flat and you can see for miles.
Wonderful balance of color and pattern in your quilt. Thank you for recording & sharing this. I know it’s a lot of work. I had to abandon the landscaping/replanting of the garden at our new to us/old house for a hysterectomy. I was at about 60% so very frustrating. 😡Surgery went very, very well, but now I’m recouping inside in our about 20% re-renovated/organized new to us/old home. Sigh. But no complaints, really. It’s good to have a project, even if I just have to stare at it for the moment. Even that is a pleasure - “Slow decorating” is a thing now. But I took a vicarious break along with you - such a luxury. Thank you. I hope you feel refreshed & encouraged. 💗💗💗
Oh, to step away from the house was wonderful! There's a long recovery time with that surgery, and I can imagine the torture you must be feeling staring at your 20% renovated house. You could spend hours on Pinterest and call it research ;-). Wishing you a full recovery!
@@BoundaryRoadSo glad it was good for you. And thank you - all true. Taking it very easy. May pull out the long neglected EPP just to feel some progress. Lots of Pinterest inspo for that too! 😂
That was a beautiful place you were at. Being alone sometimes is good for a person. Your quilt is beautiful. Did you take all your equipment with you, sewing machine and iron? And no cooking! 😊
I've never done anything like that before and I also think it's beneficial to be alone - it's a deeper level of peacefulness than regular quiet time in the house. I took my equipment, including the iron and brought simple heat-up dinners from home. It was wonderful!
The material choices in this quilt are exquisite!
Thank you! I'm delighted with how it came together. Even though there is a mix of colours, they seem to sit peacefully together.

What a thoughtful husband to suggest this for you❤
I thought so, too! I've never done anything like that before and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
I love everything about this video…. ❤
Thank you, I needed that! ❤❤
I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊

Wow what a cosy cottage, love your quilt ,
Thank you! 😊 The style of the cabin was enchanting. I found myself wondering where I could build a similar one in our garden.
Love your picture-telling
Thank you!
A colcha ficou linda!! Obrigada pela partilha 🥰🇵🇹🌿🌷🍀🍂
Obrigado! Vou levar alguns meses para fazer o quilting, mas é uma boa desculpa para sentar e me aconchegar embaixo dele enquanto faço isso.

Love your video, so relaxing and lovely. How awful about locking yourself out! Sounds like something I would do..the quilt is so beautiful.
Thank you! I was glad the main house was within walking distance. I'm unsure what I would have done if it was further away.
❤❤❤
Thanks for taking us along.
Such a lovely retreat in the country. Your quilt is going to be beautiful, I love the colors
Thank you 😊
Agree with everything you said. What a wonderful way to spend recharging yourself. Therapeutic!
Looks peaceful, the grounds are beautiful! You did a wonderful job on your quilt, love the color pattern.
Thank you so much!
Wow, Such beauty to behold! Very peaceful and soul filling. Hope you had a lovely spell there. 😊💜🐦🌲

How lovely 😊 I think you are very brave ❤ I’d love to do that but finances and anxiety would stop me, thankyou for sharing
It was! I'm definitely not brave though as I had a long list of criteria to check off before I knew I would feel safe enough to stay. 😬
