    As a professional designer with a long Adobe history, I can attest that the "switch" _can_ be made, and very successfully at that. If you're on the fence, don't be. Invest the time, and the very little coin, to ditch the 800 pound gorilla of software rental and preposterous TOS.

      Totally agree!

    • @KuttyJoe
      @KuttyJoe 5 месяцев назад +2

      The switch can be made, depending on the work you're doing. Every software has unique features that you can't get elsewhere and that is certainly true for Adobe. If that wasn't true, then everybody would have already left Adobe. I've been using Serif software since the early 2000's and I still use Adobe software because I need it. Even with subscription pricing, and high cost before subscription pricing, I still had to use it.

    • @LV4EVR
      @LV4EVR 5 месяцев назад +5

      @@KuttyJoe _Many_ companies have stuck with, or more accurately _are_ stuck with, Adobe because creatives refuse to learn anything other than what they already know. Why should they? They're not paying! It's a vicious circle: pay the absurd RENTAL fees to satisfy the creatives; creatives don't learn anything new. I know this _very well._ This six-month trial is genius marketing and, combined with the soon-to-be-free use for nonprofits and schools-and Adobe's insane TOS-things are changing substantially.

    • @KuttyJoe
      @KuttyJoe 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@LV4EVR So what about me? Why didn't I leave Adobe? If I've been using Serif's products for decades, then surely I'm not the person who is "too lazy to learn something else". I switched to Affinity many years ago - from the dreaded Adobe of course :D Right after Affinity had its very first version on Windows. Never even thought of going back to Adobe. Affinity is way smoother, quicker, snappier, saves way smaller files with the same content and the interoperability between apps is top notch. Stop worrying, give it a try. Most of the Adobe fame comes from long history and urban legends but unless you have VERY specific needs for some 1 or two options that Adobe offers - not only you can switch but you can find working in Affinity much more gratifying!

      isn't the Develop Persona (tab) in Photo the equivalent to Lightroom?

    This is amazing ! I would also prefer if they develop their product for Linux platform as well. It would come handy for production houses as well. Artists learns what studios uses in most cases.

    Thanks, mate. I'm barely starting with Affinity on iPad, haven't met my skills yet.
    UI is similar to other software but I feel the process and tools work a bit different.

    I've been with affinity for a number of years now. Love the company's attitude. Please dont change your corporate approach. But please develop a solid RAW developer/ lightroom alternative. This is holding many back from changing from Adobe.

    6 month free trial doesn’t work on my iPad. Which I did use the trial of v2 when it came out. Purchased v1. Great software.

    I'm loving using Affinity software. I'm using it in the trial period and as soon as I give it I'll buy the license. And please, don't charge for renewals, we Brazilians are very poor =(

    Affinity has made me more ROI than Adobe closing a decade. If one day, Serif forges a video or animation product, I would be lost for words. I can't wait for that day to happen. 🤞🏽

    That's a fantastic move, Ash. This will introduce more people to your great software.
    Mind you, a year would catch more consumers in the Affinity ecosystem. I'm kidding six months is great.

    I've been an Affinity user since it was shown at the Photo show in brum, it's fantastic, the only thing I want more is a Lightroom Affinity app to go with the suite, or a photo/LR "affinity" combo. THAT would be the killer blow to Adobe.

    This is awesome 🎉
    I mean I already have the universal license for all 3 apps. But I have a friend who is interested in trying out Affinity to start her business.
    The only thing is, she is confused (as am I) about some of the information given about this offer as well as some wording explaining the offer on the site...
    i.e. - the seemingly conflicting information in one FAQ on the trial webpage (that is, it seems to conflict with this video as well as all the other information in the offer details on the website.) It reads...
    "Can I use the trial on all my devices?
    Yes, the same Affinity ID tied to the trial can be used on all of your devices you personally use. Trials cannot be used for commercial purposes."
    So, my question is...
    Is it ok to use this trial for commercial purposes, like this very video seems to indicate, or is it not (like this totally unrelated question in the FAQs seems to indicate in its answer)? The question doesn't seem to be addressed directly on the trial webpage...
    Thanks in advance for your assistance!

      Fusion in DaVinci Resolve can totally replace AE for 98% of use cases. Many who say it can't simply haven't invested the time to learn it. Took me several weeks to "adjust" but I'd never go back now. Especially given all of Adobe's current recent garbage.

      @@LV4EVR I've tried Resolve, and it's too difficult to work with for a number of reasons. I also tried Nuke and it's way better and more intuitive, but the pricing model is ridiculous.

      @@BrentonWoods774 Too difficult? How so? Because it's so different? That was the problem I had at first, but I stuck with it. (I was _quite motivated_ as I consider RENTING software stupid on my part; evil on theirs.) Within three months I could do everything I did in PP/AE better and considerably faster. Not crashing all the time didn't hurt.

    It is irritating that this free trial has been offered after I already bought the suite… but I also am happy regardless I already purchases the suite (at 50% off no less). This is the easiest recommendation for beginners and professionals alike. I look forward to watching the community using the programs grow
