Thank you for this. My daughter tested positive at about 5 months during her pregnancy. She complained of having cold/flu, run down symptoms. I am so thankful she has always been ‘in tune’ with her body. She pressed her doctor and just so happened a fetal specialist from another town was at her clinic that day. The rest of her story has been a whirlwind. She went into labor a few weeks early. Delivered at a hospital who was prepared to take care of a ‘toxo’ baby. I wish she could share her story with you. Baby girl is now 18 months old. She has been on a list of meds since birth. Currently she is only taking an anti seizure med due to some seizures at about 6 months. She is the smartest and funniest little one. She is currently in her 2nd spica cast as one hip socket didn’t form correctly. Hopefully she’ll be out of it before Christmas. We are blessed. She has many doctors, most had only HEARD of this and she has been their first patient. I could go on and on. But in my opinion, I feel women should she tested . We question how many babies have died from complications of toxoplasmosis but the cause of death been labeled SIDS or another infant related sickness, since toxo is not routinely tested for.
