Hi Christopher! My heart aches for you! I listened to this the first time when I lived in FL. & my boys and I watched the movie together! That were little! His birthday is Nov. 26 & he went to Heaven on Dec. 30! I miss him Soo bad! I hate this time of year! I've become a recluse! I need to go back to the beach! It soothes my soul! May God be with you! I drink a little vodka now & then! They are our Guardian Angels now you know! I'm praying for you!😢🙅🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸💛 Suzie
@@melindapase9753 Thank you for writing! I am so sorry about your loss! The loss of a child....I have no words but just love for you and those that have lost their child/children. I remember a week before her passing she and I were at the dinner table and I just grabbed her hand and started to cry. "Please don't die before I turn 18." I sensed it. It was such a dreadful feeling. I lost her the following weekend February 18th 2001. It's not about the last memory that counts. It's about the countless others that we have of those that have gone before us. I lost my step dad to suicide. The night before I said "If you're thinking of checking out, don't that's not for you to decide." I woke up the next day and I felt that string that binds he and I together severed. That was November 20th 2007. Fast forward to November 20th 2011 I broke my spine. Life is a fragile priceless thing. I am glad you seem to have plans about going to the beach. Live and while that sting may be there while you are on this planet. Know that one day you will be reunited. God bless you.

I've always liked this song since it came out in 1978. I miss these love songs with great melodies, powerful lyryic, strong but smooth lead vocals and great accompaniment and orchestrations. I wish we could have those now, just for the sake of our children and grand children.
Brian Savage Same Here. When I lived in Los Angeles Ca from 1982-92 at least up to mid 80's songs like this, Diana Ross, Rondstat dominated the Airwaves.
@@BASavage81 I share your sentiments. Most of what the major radio stations play for the "in" music of today is not anything that resembles the old powerful ballads, even the rock ballads that were more edgy than Melissa Manchester ballads, which were more easy listening or soft rock. They had transformed her image in the 1980s with her Arista Records label, which she left for MCA Records, and they did the same. Her music, though more edgy, did not produce as many hits as her power ballads, and were not as commercially successful. The album covers showed a completely different image of Melissa Manchester that they were marketing at that time. Those are on RUclips as well. Melissa Manchester returned to her roots with power ballads and tribute albums and they have been critically acclaimed. However, as you had mentioned, that type of music is out of the mainstream. I believe the changeover on that occurred in the 1990s. There were radio stations playing that type of music in the Los Angeles region through the early 1990s, 1992 or 1993. Then, the stations had format changes and playlists got shuffled and some artists found themselves not in rotation. Television changed as well. Melissa Manchester was a frequent guest on Johnny Carson and had appeared at least once on the old Arsenio Hall Show, but both shows ended in 1992 and 1994, respectively. I cannot recall Melissa Manchester being booked on Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Kilborn, Craig Ferguson, Steven Colbert, James Corden, Jimmy Fallon, or Seth Myers. Those late-night television talk shows were the domain of a lot of these singers when they were in heavy radio station playlist rotation. Those days are gone. You are right. That is unfortunate. At least RUclips is able to show how it used to be.
