I love this. It's so... different. Blaine usually sings really popular and upbeat songs. He usually sings really loud, and that's why I love this. His voice is so soft compared to his normal singing voice, save for the end, of course.

I disagree wholeheartedly. Darren just doesn't capture the emotion behind the song; he isn't bouncy or hopeful that something is just out of reach. Whatever that 'something' is, even if he doesn't know what it is, is driving him to act. Darren didn't express that at all in his version of the song.
