I had the honor to visit the Ukrain for a week in September 2017. I stayed at Luzk, spent a weekend at the beeautiful Switjas lake and a day in Kyiv. Amazing country, amazing people and food to die for. Unless you're a vegetarian. I was in meat heaven over there. I want to return one day.
Btw, I had wareneki filled with potatoes. The dips were smetana, a sweet & hot red sauce (tasted actually more like Chinese) and a melted pork fat. To die for.
Have only Learned about Ukraine since Feb 24 and have now fallen in love from 🇺🇸.. supporting any way I can from here.. and can’t wait to visit some day

is the sour cream called Schmand "Сметана"?. Because Schmand is also know in the German kitchen. But in Germany you can say it also Créme fraîche.

чому ми даємо гроші цьому ідіоту? він не повинен представляти Україну, якщо не може вимовити назви національних страв. Що таке варєнікі, сала, халадєць, сірнікі (вареники, сало, холодець, сирники)? жахливий.

То ніби 40років з старими жити і бачити один той самий хліб ,одну ковбасу та все інше ,що тебе оточує.
так то по иодняцькому та для гламурних. Мене дуже збентежило як подали вареники. Скажу вiдверто такiвареника та холодець я би не смакувала. Це не эстетично та не по украiнькi. де закопченiковбаски та сальце з зелененькою цибулькою та огiрочком? Нi це не по нашому.
