Thanks for posting huh our video. I'm actually looking to buy a boat as well 1st time buyer. Many of the things you went over I wanted to know about. Like the idea of having the area tucked away for a bathroom. Living in South Florida hoing 20 miles out is a common activity chasing after the Mahi Mahi. So that's a cool extra. Like the swim platform. That's going to come in handy with scallop and lobster seasons. One thing I really liked is the seat in the very back. Your able to put that flat and use as a casting or landing area. Also the the live wells on both sides are plus. That way if 2 people are in the back you don't need to bother or move the other person to get bait. Thanks again for posting yuh our video. Shawn Fort Lauderdale Florida
If you go to eBay there are currently Robalo factory 6.5 Panasonic marine speakers with matching Robalo grills available for $30 each. They sound great. I just bought 6 for my R222.
Love the video. I am looking at one. Looking at the upgraded JBL 4 speaker with Yamaha 250hp VMAX. Also try "303 Marine" vinyl cleaner. It's the best I have found for my current boat.
Hey bud. Would love to see an update. In particular the focusing on the flexibility with younger kids. I bay fish but we do need to do some lake/kid activity friendliness. Some on the water experience or comments would be much appreciated. Thanks. Cheers.
Great honest review, thank you! This is really close to our dream boat; the only changes I’d make are simply rigging preferences. Do you find that there’s enough room on the front deck for casting?
It does pretty well in the chop. I am on the Potomac most of the time which has a ton of boat traffic (wakes from huge cabin cruisers and yachts) and then it also gets pretty windy. I usually don’t have much issue in a 1’-3’ chop (obviously can’t run wide open at 3 feet). I haven’t really had it in consistent heavy swells 3+. Honestly, I don’t think I would be out there if the seas were that big.
you said you were 6'5" in the beginning of the video so I'm wondering how much headroom you have under the hard top? Do you have to duck under the metal framing tubes to get to the console? Sweet boat! Thanks
Chuck Allyn I do not have to duck at all. The only time I have hit my head is when I have tried reaching directly from the side of the console for my phone sitting on top of the console. There is a cross bar there that is the “perfect” height for my head.
Enjoyed your review. I'm looking to purchase my first boat. I'm 6'7" and need room, but want a 1st boat I can handle and not end up boat poor. I'm retiring in May and want a good fishing boat that is family-friendly. I'm on the Eastern Shore of MD, the ocean on one side, and the bay on the other side. What are your thoughts about this boat for my situation.
It’s funny, we were on that lake for a week but a vast majority of my time has been on the Potomac. I have taken it down close to the bay where the river is 3 or 4 miles wide. I have had it in 1-3 foot chop and a ton and it does really well. I am not sure how comfortable I would be in more consistent 2-4 though.
Maylor Tason honestly, we have never used it. This summer the water is so warm, everyone has been going pee in the water. Lol. I told them no number 2 on my boat.

Ck out but hurt seats they can make custom cushions, did a great job on mine. Every boat has it quirks
Nice boat my experience with black powder coat is it gets very hot to the touch on sunny hot days and shows salt scale your forever wiping it down
try 303 seat conditioner for your seat cushions it will keep them looking cleaner, shinier and healthier for longevity.
Im getting one very soon..

Great idea, I can make that happen
Yiu cam knee board behind this boat
Thanks for the honest review. Beautiful boat.
Been dying to find this video. Thanks!

The Fishing Family oh yeah, plenty of room to cast. There will be a little less when I get a trolling motor but still plenty.
Great boat review! How does the boat handle in heavy swells/choppy waters?

Thx for the honest look @ the 226
Where did you buy it at I'm in NC close to Winston Salem and hope to be purchasing soon and would you recommend the dealer
Great looking boat! Do the front cushions come off, so you can use the deck for fishing?
Yup
Trust me you don't want the all tan vinyl. My 2015 R222 horizontal tan accents are all sunburned and dried up.

I think it would work well. I am 6’5” and have had no issues with headroom. The boat is great for walking the line between fishing and family fun.
In 5'10 will I be able to reach the controls or see over the console?😂
Evolution. 552. 5 mpgs. With 175
How much was that boat in 2020. I bet it’s 130 k now
65
Are you considering trim tabs? I've heard some dealers say on this boat they're not necessary, and I've seen some say it is.
Rosemarie Juzwick I haven’t needed the trim tabs so far. The stern extends out on both sides past the motor mount which helps level out the ride
50 more hp only gives you about 3 mph
Did you look at sea pro or sea hunt while searching ? And how does it handle light to medium chop?
I watched a lot of videos on both but never took a sea trial in either. She does really well in light to medium chop. No issues at all
These boat like this tough he'll 8 foot icen waves
Great boat I like it
If you don’t mind me asking, what did you pay for everything out the door?
60k out the door
I notice you are on a lake, Have you taken your Cayman offshore? If so how does she handle there?

"We are a big people."
Big people eed big boats
We use bleach on the vinyl on our skiff.
What is the draft?
12" but the outdrive is lower
What does your family think of the head (I imagine with the wife & children it gets a workout)?
Yay? Nay?
Maylor Tason honestly, we have never used it. This summer the water is so warm, everyone has been going pee in the water. Lol. I told them no number 2 on my boat.
I love that boat. My wife wants something that fits in the garage 😡😡😡😡
