Man, as a professional jazz musician, I love hearing people talk about jazz and I love that films like La La Land and whiplash allow people to see sides of the music world they don't normally see. Even if those movies aren't the perfect display of the culture, it's still enough to start discussion and show people the vastness of the genre. Funny enough, my old private lesson instructor used to play trombone at Disneyland from the 70s-80s if I remember correctly, and he said it was a super competitive gig to get. Disney scouts would go to graduate music schools and orchestras around the country and look for the best young people and have them wear those 20s costumes and play on main Street and stuff. Really cool.
Not sure if it is relevant enough, but I'd love an episode about your favorite parks-specific collectibles or books... or your favorite music from the parks.
I remember always being excited for your PS4 "should we go to all night disneyland" streams. It was just rocco and kevin hanging out in his living room shooting the shit with the chat and the PS4 robots while looking up at how much of a disaster the disneyland nights were and seeing if they should go or not. I think they might still be the featured/pinned clips on mega64's twitch
Whenever you get chance, woukd love for you to talk about Epcot center. Especially Future world section and Horizons. That's my most anticipated episode from you whenever you get chance to do so.
That Haunted Mansion crypt door is a handicap entrance. They'll take you through it if you tell them that someone in your party is claustrophobic and can't handle the stretching room.
Adding to Rocco's point about mass media and paying attention to music: there's a British rock musician named Steven Wilson who's well known for founding the band Porcupine Tree. He did an interview a few years ago where he talked about the difference between today's modernized mass access to all sorts of content, versus spending all of your monthly allowance as a teenager in the 70's to purchase just one single record. And even if he didn't like the album, he couldn't just hop on the internet and find something else. He was "forced" to listen to that one album over and over until his next purchase the following month. He talked about how he became more attentive and appreciative of that one record, and often times he would learn to like it a lot, even if he initially didn't. There's definitely a lot to be said about just sitting down with full attention to just one piece of music, versus spending very little on a hundred different discographies. Great talk Rocco, the title of this video did not disappoint.
Love when Rocco slams his hands on the table to shake the camera. Really adds emphasis and a feel of suspense to the shot. Like my mind is being bass boosted
I don't know if they do this at DL, but I'm pretty sure the reason they don't do the 24 hour days at WDW anymore is because Disney realized they could charge rubes $120 to stay three extra hours in Magic Kingdom.
tikiroom.com/img/81407x573fc86b.jpg Found a picture of the print rocco was talking about, it's not nearly as bad as I was expecting but it's still pretty crap for something you pay 200 dollars for
Did you intentionally frame it so your head was on fire?
It's a Hades cosplay.
He's in the smoking area.
Haven't watched the video yet, but I can confirm it is a success.
