    I always say it, there is no need for trades, as long as you are fit enough, determined enough and have spare time then anyone can DIY, even to the same standard as the pros. It may take you three times as long, but it can be done.

      Can’t go too far wrong if you stick to manufactures instructions and follow simple building rules

    Great job. Can I ask what the brand of roof tiles is and the colour? I am trying to choose roof tiles for my house, and I quite like the ones you used.

      Thank you, we used a brand called NORTHSTONE and the tiles is the causeway smooth in Matt black, they were cheaper than Marleys and other brands but we did find them a little crumbly and from roofers I’ve spoken to, it sounded like they came straight from the factory and didn’t have time to sit and cure for a few months. I believe Marley tiles are about 30p each more and may be worth the extra

      Yes, bricks up to DPC, then DPC ontop and up the walls as well to prevent moisture spreading from masonry to timber
