Ask the examiner to see if He or She will assist you as you call out what lights you are checking. You will be in the driver seat clearly calling out what you want checked. This would be a plus.

Hi! On tractor: When turn signal is ON, the lamp flashed brighter then driving light. That's normal. But when the brake is pushed, too, is there a difference visible? Has the turn signal the same brightness as the brake? I s there a difference visible when turn signal AND brake is on? Thank you!!

The brakes lights are brighter. The examiner will assist you with the brakes lights, turn signals and reverse rear tractor light

@@truckerstevecdlinstructor brighter than the turn /winker lights? That means if the turn light is on, you can see that the brake is on, too, because its brighter than turn. I need no examiner, i have a full working scale model here at the table. Need to know how to set up the brightness for a 3-in 1 light for the tractor. In europe we have no US trucks here to have a look...

Mirrors. On some vehicles, back up screen ( like on your car). Tractor trailers it’s the mirrors

Never said it’s a law. The exterior light check, has always been part of the pre-trip. Some CDL school’s don’t have their students do it. Thank you for your comment. Please see you local CDL driver manual for the exterior light check. You can ask the tester to help you do it

Wondering what that micky mouse situation under the driver's side headlight is all about. Duct taped wires on the exterior of the vehicle does NOT seem kosher.

That looks like damaged, Does not look like duct Tape or any signs of wire being taped., That trailer is not at my range, so I will check it out to see if it's Kosher. Thanks for pointing this out.
