Even allowing people to get off before trying to push against the people getting off to get on. I can’t imagine in the uk trains would move without closing the doors and trying to exit before the train has stopped…😬an appointment with the British Transport Police, yes, it’s real. He’d probably be banned from the train company too. When people here complain about overcrowded trains they should put them in a simulation of this train. Then advice them to read Julia Donaldson’s A Squash and a Squeeze. For those that don’t know it’s a great book, if you don’t have a copy buy a copy for children in your life, alternatively there are many videos of people reading it on here. Those have saved me twice when I had no voice in the classroom. Sadly, I still know it & a few others word by word 😂

For someone who travels everyday on the western line,first of all such empty trains are a myth on western line.this probably is a central line train coming from the opposite side (going towards cst) On a normal day,this is not practical at all and wouldn’t ever follow it. The govt needs to either start new modes of transport to biforcate the crowd or just create more job opportunities in every city to reduce this crowd in local trains
Problem is Mumbai people take pride on current state of city and complain less. For the economy it makes, it should have the best mode of transport in the country, but severely lacks behind even tier 2 cities. The only thing I found better than other cities is fair and resolved Auto rickshaw system.

Metro doesnt serve residential areas or provide last mile connectivity. Ola booking doesnt get confirmed in first booking. U cant survive without personal transport in tier 2 cities. Mobility in mumbai is quite democratized, despite the crushing crowds.

In mumbai train frequency is quite high...if they didn't get a chance to get in this train, next train is on the way....when there's no Q, most probably a person who is not strong enough will not be able to aboard for hours. Q system gives equal opportunity for every person to get in. If you don't want to wait for the next train come early for the Q..and if you're late no worries, the next train is not too far

In practice at Thane station since long long back.. 9am Thane CSMT fast local PF no.7.. all ladies of 1st class coaches follow this, even gentlemen too

Being adaily traveler of Mumbai local make you trained for trains..lol Btw there are rules in ladies coaches which rules are not there in general coaches.. and you should know all the rules before entering in rush hours otherwise all the aunties will shout on you like you broke there precious tea cup
The main problem with Mumbai local coaches isn’t really less space inside the coach but people who’re standing near the doors or in the main passage as this blocks the way for others to get in and even causes nuisance for those wanting to get down. If people simply stepped inside and occupied the seats and the space between the seats, the relief brought to everyone would be surplus. I’ve travelled in these coaches for roughly 8 years and most of the times this has been the case. Even here, the women undoubtedly were disciplined and well mannered to exhibit such patience but you don’t really get that much time in reality as the train isn’t going to be standing there for 5-10 mins, except some scenarios.
I've travelled in the ladies compartment for awhile and while that is an issue. The issue is also that there's no space, I've seen women sitting on even the smallest bit of space (on the seats). No space and if you're not standing next to the door before your station comes, you'll miss it because you won't have time then to get out with the rush wanting to get in.
Reminds me of Kolkata metro 1996 days when folks used to maintain this line disciplines , but that got destroyed eventually after 1 year once population increased. Hope Mumbai will not be see great influx from outsiders, state and maintain good habitats
