Another great explanation.
Thanks Mark!
Thanks 👍👍
No problem, thanks!
Good answer Bill ... Thx ...
Thanks Eddy!
GREAT information, thank you! 👍💪👌
Thanks Doug!
Thanks for explaining this!
My pleasure!
Looks ok now but how about after you get breakers and wires in panel?
Install change over to right of meter.
Good video, Bill!
Thanks Don. Hope you've been well!
If you have main panel outside 7ft away from tiny home on pole 200 amp breaker panel ( bonded neutral and ground, its 1st panel) 2 -8ft. Grounding rods over 6ft. Apart #4 bare copper connects to main panel quadra plex 4 wires 4/4/2/4 connect to inside 200amp breaker panel 7ft away does inside panel seperate neutral and ground. Will be connected by #4 green insulated wire back to main panel 7 ft. Away at bonded neutral/ground bar ( which is connected to 2 grounding rods) does inside panel need seperate grounding rod or rods, would it not interfere with mainpanel rods so close to house unless 2nd panel grounding rods are
at least 2×8ft. Grounding rods 16ft. Or what distance. Is recommended! Because green wire connects to main panel outside neutral/ground bar and goes underground in PvC conduit to inside sub panel ground bar and seperate ground wire for sub also connects to ground bar( if installed) would interfere by causing alternet loop unless it is installed min. 16ft.= (2× 8ft. Grounding rods ? Remember 2 grounding rods are 7ft. away from each other and only 2-3ft from house where service enters house. Gotten conflicting answers orthe you can never have enough grounding rods( but with the short distance 7ft. they would interfere with each other basically having 2 paths from neutral/ground bar to subpanel ground.
Great explanation again Sparky.
Thanks Gary!
Could the wires from the ATS come to the panel in the middle through the same bottom conduit if it was large enough?
Also, not directly related to this video but does the code require a disconnect between the ATS and Generator. Thanks!
No, just go out meter at bottom and in bottom change over switch. Much more neat.
The generator switch added as a retrofit is going to be oddly placed like this most of the time, I reckon.
Very helpful,thanks.
You're very welcome!
que bueno tus videos, saludos
¡Gracias!
Why all the green wires going every which away?
thank u! very helpful
Great to hear!
You do need Myers hubs on the higher nipple as they are above the bottom of the bus bars
No you don't.

Thanks sparky 👍⚡⚡⚡
My pleasure, thanks!
This is why you need to stop and go to desk ( may be truck ) and figure what plan is. Boss and or customer may wonder why sitting in truck. This is my office.
Thanks. Your video addresses my situation directly. I want to install a sub panel next to a main panel on an exterior wall, and the wires for the sub circuits will be spliced in the main enclosure and feed-through a foot of conduit into the sub. However, can the source of power for my sub panel come from another meter of a different address? That is, two houses with different address meters next to each other on the same lot, and the power for the sub panel installed on house A comes from house B. (Solar is installed on B but underutilized.)
Wow, but that is illegal without house B's permission.
@@SparkyChannel House B is our ADU. In California, all new units must have solar.
This is almost certainly something to involve an attorney and an electrician on to get everything down on paper and filed as necessary. The next owners will want to be aware of this, even and especially if you intend to be there long haul.
Ask your inspector or call the presiding utility company before you do anything.
I would have dropped the pass-through cables in lower conduit to bypass the second box just to keep it easy for future electricians.
Good point. Thanks Norm!
It's going to get quite busy in the main panel once you start putting circuits in...
True!
I’m not sure if you saw my other comment . But is there anyway I can get intouch with you directly?
Write Bill at wpm44@yahoo.com
@@SparkyChannel thank you so much! Sent you email!
Why in the world would you even install that way. That makes no sense
perfectly legal. but it sure makes the transfer switch look like an afterthought.
So true. Thanks Ken!
In my experience, they typically are. 😂
