It's like getting a sneak peak at how things were done in the good ol' days.

Retired Chicago Police here. I used to work in the District where this facility is and how I wish would have gone inside for a quick visit. I think it would have been pretty cool. I will say that it left a curious odor permeating throughout the immediate area.

I’ve been to that factory several times! The people were so nice. Cool to have a piece of living history there, still working at the trade.
Horween also makes all the leather for official Wilson footballs, made in Ada, Ohio, another place I’ve been.

Those belt drivin ceiling fans let you know this building has been there for a long minute.

That was really interesting. I was torn between wanting to know more about the process verbally or just watching and enjoying the video. Would be nice to have a follow-up video in more detail. Very enjoyable channel to watch when staff display such casual proficiency that the camera can capture what's actually happening as part of the normal production process without disruption.

"Why are excellent quality boots so expensive?" ...because (about) 30 or more people have put their skills into making everything in that boot/shoe before it becomes the most important aspect of your day: your feet!

I always wondered if someone could put a soft Xtratuf sole on a leather upper? I work in the woods in coastal Oregon and the chevron sole is the next best to chalks👍

You will want to stay on the back end for the finished product to get that amazing leather smell. The smell on the front end where rawhides are received is no place for the squeamish, trust me!
