Once again we have Disney female characters from older movies that are captivating, go after what they want and talk back to their male friend/love interest when they belittle them or anything of that matter

I freaking love her! She's so sweet and cheerful yet sassy and not afraid to stand up for herself. And to me, she looks like a mix between Alice and aurora.
This movie really did them all dirty. Taren had five books to go from wide-eyed dreamer to a real hero, Eilonwy was stripped of her entire personality (as well as any explanation of exactly how she's a princess), Flewder was actually competent, and even Gurgi goes from a sniveling coward to a loyal, respectable sidekick.
What exactly is gurgi? Ever since I saw the movie as a child in the 90’s I thought he was a dog but watching clips now he’s like a hybrid dose it tell in the books I might read them.
@@kkandsims4612 It never really does, I think it's supposed to be left up to the imagination. He's described as a small furry creature, but that creature is only ever called Gurgi. But you should definitely read The Chronicles of Prydain, it's pretty good.
This movie was wonderful and it’s so criminally underrated and lambasted. The characters were charming and adventurous and it makes me sad that Disney ignores this movie.

You should read The Chronicles of Prydain; you'll know all you need to know, but it's way different than the movie, I could tell you. Like, the plots are waaaay different. You'll see what I mean.

Eilwony is such a underrated character. I wish we'd get to see some merch for The Black Cauldron for it's 40th anniversary next year on Disney Store. like a classic doll or limited edition doll for Eilwony would be perfect. 💙🤍💜

I always used to think that Eilonwy was the daughter of princess Aurora and prince Phillip
I thought Eilonwy was just a fanmade version of the Briar Rose version of Aurora lol
She certainly has similar features (purposefully drawn in by the animators)
