    Can we use koila for burning the mud bricks and how is the quality of the bricks burnt through such process ?

  • @javiercidonmartinez9107
    @javiercidonmartinez9107 4 года назад +6

    The production of this type of bricks (locally named "tijolos queimados") has a serious environmental impact, as it needs a lot of firewood that comes from deforestation. And the result is a very low-quality brick. The sustainable alternative, which the government also supports, is the Compressed Earth Block.

    • @georgevanhoose6333
      @georgevanhoose6333 2 года назад +4

      Always one tree hugger ,gotta make himself known. Of course he touts the government solution as well.
      how do you know that firewood doesn't come from already-felled trees? Or do you always assume people do things the dumbest way possible because it's convenient for you?

    • @magesalmanac6424
      @magesalmanac6424 2 года назад

      “Already felled trees” you are a special kind of dumb. Watch the video again they literally say “fresh firewood” and you can see it’s been chopped. It’s true this is a waste of trees for a low quality result. There are better alternatives

    • @magesalmanac6424
      @magesalmanac6424 2 года назад

      Don’t cry about tree huggers when it’s people like you killing the planet, stealing kids futures.

      yet this is far better than factory made bricks using industrialized methods. A huge benefit being made on spot and materials from one location.
      The amount of gasoline and industrial chemicals, electricity etc market bricks use is a hell of a lot worse.
      The right forestry practices and this version COULD be entirely sustainable. Especially if they dont use regular concrete and make utilize their ash to make mortar.
      However yes, rammed earth is a cleaner option. Can even use far less wood with using the ash to make a plaster to make it more weather resistant.
      Or wattle and daub construction.
      My main point being the world would be just fine with this method if the real problem, the big boys and their factories, were not an issue.
      (i am a capitalist by the way, before i get the "lefty liberal" accusation, but also an environmentalist, Im not saying the factories MUST GO but their issues need to be resolved.)

      Guess what they lied to you TREES ARE A RENEWABLE RESOURCE AND THEY NEED TO BE CUT REGULARLY AND REPLANTED OR YOU WILL FACE FOREST FIRES DUE TO BUILD UP ON THE FOREST FLOOR FROM OLD TREES. USE YOUR BRAIN AND STOP LETTING OTHER PEOPLE TELL YOU THINGS.

    use charcoal and charcoal powder between the layers

    • @georgevanhoose6333
      @georgevanhoose6333 2 года назад +1

      @@altnative charcoal is strong enough to support the weight of the bricks on top of it, even as it burns, so more hot air can pass between brick layers. That helps propagate your fire deeper into the brick-firing clamp. So you could put some charcoal between each layer of bricks and it'll remain fairly stable. That will get your fire hotter, and keep it hot longer. Best of all, you can throttle the amount of air you let in, so you can keep it from getting too hot too quick.
      You can also use charcoal to smelt iron in a bloom furnace if you're into that sort of thing. Charcoal is great, I love working with it!

      ryan B theyre probably weak. They weren’t cooked as long as long as they’re supposed to, not as high temps, not as dense becuz they were made with mud which has lots of organic matter which is removed as well as a the questionable sand and silt content which is probably way too high for a quality brick.
