This album seeks to portray the ghosts and pains of a mind tormented by anxiety and anguish.
The three songs that compose the EP refer to three elements that frequently haunt my mind. Generally, these torments are accompanied by long spirals of thought that slowly sink me into ideas even more suffocating than the previous ones.
Thus, these thoughts feed back on themselves, magnifying and perpetuating their existence in the depths of my being.
Hence, the name of the EP.
You can check the pinned comment, Bandcamp or our Beacon LinkInBio to know more about each pillar.
Thanks for listening. Hope you will enjoy it

The first of the Pillars is Loneliness.
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night, with uncontrollable anguish, palpitations, and needing to sit up in bed to regain some calm? That's what I call the embrace of loneliness. It's also present on those days when you wake up with the sun in your face and, even with the limited lucidity of someone still in the transition between reality and sleep, you realize that the room is flooded with that silence. That silence that can only be generated by the total absence of another soul.
The solitude's embrace is somewhat particular. It is one of those things that has always been there for you, waiting with open arms for your return. However, its familiarity and unconditional acceptance are only deceits, because its embrace suffocates and its hand only pulls yours to continue sinking you, in a cycle that feeds back to perpetuate its existence in your being.

The second of the Pillars is Resentment.
We are a mosaic of wounds that we carry drawn on our skin. Some wounds will be physical and visible. Others, the worst, lie within us. Resentment, fear, distrust, and despair are also scars. Many of them, in fact, last longer than physical ones. Even, perhaps, some forever. Others may perhaps endure without the guarantee that time will erase them.
In the meantime, they wither the soul of their bearer. The mourner looks out the window on a rainy afternoon, fully aware of his solitary situation, perceiving himself as deserving of this reality.
The mourner carries written on his skin everything he carries with him. But no one can read what they don't stop to see. Because the pain seeps into the details, like those raindrops under the window.
Resentment is a chain that keeps us tied to our past. It keeps us prisoners to what others have done to us and what they have made of us as a result. These chains keep you a prisoner of yourself, stuck in your victim stance. And, since no one cares about the weight you carry on your shoulders or the punishment you have imposed on yourself, you are draining your own life. The only one you have.

The third Pillar is Absence. What do I mean by Absence? Our mortality and finiteness. To the inevitable losses that come with our impermanence in life, the marks and emptiness we leave on others after our departure.
It is inevitable. Time will reduce me, you and everyone to ashes, erasing all traces of who we once were. First, we will be. Then, there will be the memories. But after that, only memories of memories will remain, reducing us to recreations formed by the minds of others.
Thus, in this fiction, we may think that we will live a while longer. After our physical existence, we will live a while in the minds of others. Over time, our mark will blur, fade, fade away, cease to exist altogether when they have forgotten us.
And if we refuse now to let someone die, we should fuel that fire, that desire to get that person back, keeping alive the pain of their absence. In other words, we keep our hand on the knife, preventing the wound from closing. Then, asking not to be forgotten becomes a selfish act. We do not want to cease to exist altogether at the cost of seeing those we care about suffer.
As hard as it may be, this scenario is not a punctual misfortune, but a shared grief. Time will force us to play both roles. The role of the one who misses and the role of the one who is missed. It is not a choice, time knows only one direction.
Today, we feel the pain of loss. Tomorrow, we will be the ones who will have left an absence in others. Of which, we will be ignorant, as it is part of the process of disappearing. Leaving life behind, navigating the waters of death and oblivion, heading towards being nothing at all. Total non-existence.

Bass is absolutely buried in this mix, could've added a lot more punch and depth. Solid jams still.

      @OceanWitherer  14 дней назад

@isaacclarke2072 do you say so? Will have that in mind. It may be a consequence of the dichotomy that the material has. Because, the chords used need a lot of mids for definition but the mix aims to be modern. Anyway, worming on improving that for the next material. Thanks for the feedback!

@@OceanWitherer On my Yamaha HS7 the bass is perfectly fitting in the chordy parts, thickening the root notes - for the breakdowns it could use more highs and grit to add a bit of aggression.
