If you want historical romances from the past with action adventure, here are some I'd recommend: Laura Kinsale's Prince of Midnight Laura Kinsale's For My Lady's Heart Laura Kinsale's The Shadow and the Star Patricia Gaffney's Crooked Hearts Maggie Osborn's The Promise of Jenny Jones Johanna Lindsay's Fires of Winter LaVyrle Spencer's The Gamble Susan Wiggs' The Charm School Elizabeth Grayson's Painted by the Sun Lisa Cach's George and the Virgin - actually this might be more fantasy/historical Mary Jo Putney's One Perfect Rose Judith Ivory's The Proposition Judith Ivory's Sleeping Beauty - Judith Ivory Judith Ivory's Untie My Heart Not old school, but very action packed and part of a series: Jennifer Kincheloe's The Secret Life of Anna Blanc
You might want to try Kathleen Woodiwiss's "Ashes in the Wind". The heroine spends most of the book disguised as a boy and is very strong willed. Also, I highly recommend Candice Proctor's "Night in Eden" and Penelope Williamson's "The Passions of Emma".
Yay to 3 years of historical romance love! If you're looking for a newly released historical romance with an old school Highlands vibe (think Julie Garwood's), you may like Hold Fast by Eliza MacArthur.
Hold Fast by Eliza MacAuthur is supposed to be really good. It’s her nod to Julie Garwood. I know it’s a Scottish romance. I loved her other book, Soft Flannel Hank. It’s a paranormal romance. So I’m hoping Hold Fast is great too. I love all the old greats. Kathleen, Judith, Jude. I had actually not read anything but historical romance until I was 45 or so. I’ve never read Johanna Lindsay. I need to get on that.
Noooo! I loved the Eden series! But agreed-def more Gothic than romance. The whole series is bonkers. Like Days of Our Lives on meth and Molly bonkers. The fourth book made me weep, however. I love your channel, btw. I may be one of the few men who appreciate the cray that bodice rippers truly are.
I’m so glad you were obsessed with The Bride. Loved that book
Such a fan of this book club-you just never know what you're gonna get! Hopefully there will be more Amanda Quick in 2024!
Yess I need to read more Amanda Quick!
This was so much fun to watch! You were being so nice and I was just like “THIS BOOK IS TRASH” 😂

No dear this books are pure passion. I wished to read that trashy😢

Not old school, but very action packed and part of a series:
Jennifer Kincheloe's The Secret Life of Anna Blanc

Someone else recommended that too! Im running to look it up!!
Try the Malory/Andersons series by Johanna Lindsey I think you’ll love them. It’s a big family series like the Bridgertons.
I was also very annoyed with Shanna, but I really enjoyed it too. I read a couple of books of Kathleen E. Woodiwiss and I really enjoyed them.
Hey Jess I really want to read Night song since we interviewed Beverly Jenkins on your Channel😊
