Scotland has to be one of the most stunning countries in the world. My homeland, where because of medical issue's I'll never be able to return. I found you on RUclips about a month ago and I've watched all your movies. Thank you for sharing your journey. Thanks to you I've now seen parts of Scotland that i would never have seen before. I have a little 15yr old grandson who was diagnosed with depression two years ago. He loves his solitude. It's were he gets his energy from. I think he'd thrive in this sport. He also loves the water. Take care, stay safe and i look forward to more of your movies.
Just lovely thanks. I have done the kayak in the other direction from Carsaig to Uisken and had the company of two porpoises for a while. Welcome companions when you are solo on a lively sea.
My Families and I's favourite place to spend our Summer Holiday. I have paddled some of the coastline your paddling, but on my Sit on Top. This year I brought my Touring Kayak, but didn't go as far as it was nowhere near as stable compared to the Sit on top. I did have a go at Surfing at one of the beaches down from Uisken, Lilvickeon Beach with a friend. Looking forward to returning again next Summer. I was going to go down the route of buying a Canoe, but paddling on that coastline and looking across to Colonsay and Jara and thinking I would like to paddle over. I was told that to do that I would need a proper Kayak. So that changed my buying option. Joined a Club and I am currently working on improving my skill level and having to get camping gear again as we changed from a tent to a Motorhome. Lovely to see it again from an others point of view. Only recently found your channel and subscribed. Having your How to pack a Kayak video form your year long trip then watched a few more of your videos.
I’ve been enjoying your channel…beautiful sounds of the sea and landscape…..reminds me of the cliffs around Cape point wher I grew up….. Richard Koehler,a chap I was at school with recently paddled solo on a kayak from Cape Town to São Paulo……a trip that you would appreciate….just being out at sea and at peace…thanks for the channel
Oh Nick, loved this! Loch Buie and Moy Castle are my fave places on Mull. I have walked to the Carsaig arches too. Fabulous. Love these films - thank you! 🙏🏻
Wonderful uplifting film. Incredible part of the world! Please can you take over from David Attenborough when he retires, your narration is perfect. 👌👍
Great to see you back on the water Nick and what a beautiful advertisement for Scottish sea kayaking, although that reef break had me shouting "OH NO" at the top of my voice 😂 The wrecked pier is evidence to the sheer power of nature. I enjoyed watching the trip unfold. Thanks for sharing.
Close to rocks I usually wear a helmet. It’s part of the culture where I paddle. I know not so much in the UK. Even the lightest swell and buried rocks can sometimes conspire to cause a dangerous situation on a sunny, windless day.Imagine if you had capsized and hit your noggin’! It’s like a seat belt, you very rarely need it but when you do you need it badly and instantly! There are very comfortable helmets these days. Just food for thought from a fellow solo paddler.
I choose not to wear a helmet for a few reasons. Primarily, it's the aesthetics of doing so. By wearing a helmet I'm placing sea kayaking as a hazardous undertaking when it really isn't. I understand your concern but don't agree. One reason I love sea kayaking so much is the freedom of the pastime and the greatest of these freedoms, is personal choice, especially breaking free from 'cultural' norms.
Your super films are even more important to me, now that Donny Wilcox has a drone! (Please never start using one, Nick. They're not called drones for nothing).
Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave your feedback on my sea kayaking video. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like the music choice; I understand that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to music. I aim to create an enjoyable and immersive experience for as many viewers as possible. I'll certainly take your feedback into consideration for future videos and try to find a balance that appeals to a wider audience. Thanks again.
Really lovely like all your contributions, thank you so much for sitting on top of your kayak… Cheers from southern Chile

Thank you so much and I'm sorry to hear of your challenges. It's lovely to know your grandson thrives in the natural realm too. Warmest wishes to you.

Thank you John. Yes, it’s wonderful when porpoises or dolphins join in the journey.
So stimulated
Definitely!

Thank you for watching my films and for your kind comment. It's great to hear you're enjoying your own adventures. Happy paddling and all the best.
Thank you so much Nick! I've always wanted to do that stretch and now I have, thanks to you.👌

Thank you Iain. That’s a huge undertaking, paddling across the Atlantic like that. An incredible achievement. Best wishes.

Thank you so much Caroline. The walk to the arches is a commiting undertaking! Best wishes.
always a pleasure watching your wee films
Thank you, that's lovely to know.
Great video Nick. Mull has fantastic scenery, love the wee secluded bays. Been to Mull once, must get back soon. All the best.
Thank you very much Gordon. I hope you make it back here again one day soon.
Wonderful uplifting film. Incredible part of the world! Please can you take over from David Attenborough when he retires, your narration is perfect. 👌👍

Thank you Sarah.
Fantastic video, and once again, I feel like I'm right there with you. Who knows, maybe one day.
Thank you and if ever you find yourself on Mull...
@NickRayLifeAfloat
Let's hope so. Myself and Marietta were there for your homecoming when we met you, so we hope to be back there one of these days.
It'll be wonderful to see you both again John and we'll definitely go for a paddle.

Wow I’d love to have a go
I hope you do Rob. Very best wishes.
Your super films are even more important to me, now that Donny Wilcox has a drone! (Please never start using one, Nick. They're not called drones for nothing).
Thank you. I doubt if I'll get a drone. I do use my 360 degree camera on a long pole to get drone like footage.
It was going so well until what I suppose what might be called music that is quite alien and totally ruined the whole thing.
