A great base to adventure from in a kayak or on foot to secluded beaches. Really lovely campsite location and plenty of flat grass to pitch with clean facilities (although not enough showers and toilets). It is rather exposed to the wind and with zero sun cover but if prepared and in good weather it’s hard to beat. I kayak around the Isle of Iona exploring the coastline and having lunch on the best most isolated beach. The van is working well and I’m a happy man😬

I camped at this place about 10 yrs ago, on route to Iona to burry my late grans ashes. She always spoke about Iona but never managed to get there.. I felt it was my duty to spread her ashes there..

Hi Al, it was good to meet you at Fidden and glad you enjoyed your circuit of Iona. I think that beach you lunched on is on ‘Island of Storm’, named after what it’s like in Winter months!
It was a bit nippy at Fidden when the sun wasn’t out, it’s an exposed site, but that keeps the midges away! You need to get out more man!

Bit the bullet myself with a camper. Haven’t got the patience and time for a build but found a T6.1 camper so I explore more. Also updated my tent so looking forward to more nights out.

Excellent Al. Watching your Mull and Iona adventure had me forgetting I was watching a self-made video on RUclips. It felt like I was watching one of those programs for the lads on the Freeview network. This one presented like an embryonic tv show, as your homemade production values are quite high. Add in your personality and your colloquial narration amidst the fantastic locations and I'm sure there's a tv show in there waiting to breakout. Something to think about pitching maybe?

Fantastic, I had Fidden farm in mind for a camp , nice to see it , i was doing similar van camping and Kayaking at the silver sands of Morar last weekend.
I’ve been there and those beaches are incredible 👌

Hi, Caz again from Uisken beach, we also circumnavigated Iona, that beach you landed on is only there at low tide is a Coral beach....its stunning, you were very lucky with the weather as there can be really big swells and standing waves plus white horses. We were in the sib so couldn't go so close and was rough. Brilliant video. Thank you x

Would just like to say, your videos inspired me to try my first ever wild camp with two friends. Absolutely incredible experience for the last 2 nights in the Lake District with pretty challenging conditions having to set up camp ~500M on the sheltered side of a mountain after being moved over a fell wall….
Waking up surrounded by clouds of fog from below was surreal, can’t wait to try Brecon next!

That was amazing, Al. What an absolutely beautiful place. Your kayaking skills have come along way since your first day on the water after getting it. You are going to have so many wonderful adventures with that kayak and your new over landing van. By the way, every time I see your van I'm constantly reminded what a great job you did designing and building that it. Well done!
spent an amazing Christmas on IONA, BACK IN 2017. Beautiful Place, water was a tad chilly but swam/ snorkelled everyday. making me missing it now. Another small gem is the isle of Luing. you can take your van there. if Anything even better snorkeling, beached are not as sandy. Thanks for the videos

Nice one Al. Great scenery and amazing beaches, especially the one where you pulled the kyack upon to where the sea was to the left and right. How do you get the camera shots from the distance when you are paddling? It's like you have someone following alongside in another boat. Lively stuff. Cheers, Ozzy.

To those asking where Blue is: it's simple, kayaking on the open water at sea is no place for a big dog. They would unbalance the kayak, and put both of them at risk. It's that simple. Dogs do not kayak oceans well.

Wowzwer, u never disappoint, remember that campsite, gorgeous!!! We watched the seals from there. Three words re Iona, told you so !!!!, That first beach i think was the one we found, we got the ferry over , ended up in a little village then walked the length of the island to fiind that beach, amazing place, cheered me up as not too good lately think my beagle of 12 might have cushings disease 😥

I camped at fidden farm for a week in 2019 fantastic place to explore mull,think I put our tent right about where you are and it was only £10 a night then
