This just changed the whole game for me!!! Finally dropped in today!! The pivot was absolutely crucial for balance, as was looking at where your are going, not down!
OMGG YESSS I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU! So stoked this tutorial helped, I really love how secure the Pivot Drop In feels :) SO PROUD OF YOU! Game changer. *high five*
I finally dropped in today! I've been too scared for a year but today I said I wouldn't leave the park until I did it. My technique was BAD but I think I'm gonna try yours next time. This looks a lot easier, you're literally walking into it!
Yess!! You got this!! I have a short too where I give more tips for dropping in and really zoom on my skates close up which is something I needed when I was learning to visually understand. You got this!! Getting past just doing it is the hardest part. Good job! Keep it up!
Girl I have the biggest mental block with dropping in. I can pump all the way up to the coping, I can do toe stop stall tricks, jumps, stall with both feet on the coping, fakie 180, etc. but I am scared to drop in??? Even watching your video gave me anxiety 😥 I’ll let you know when I drop in. Hopefully soon 😭
I just wanted to update!!! This morning at 7am I went over to the skate park and used your tips and dropped in!!! I think I dropped in well over 50 times this morning. Thank you for your tips. I love that you show the video of your feet as you drop in.
This is me, I’m so scared to drop in on the half pipe, but I literally ride to the coping on a bigger ramp, I really don’t know what to do with that mental block
@@AnyaSDCS awe girl totally valid. we have to recognize that dropping in for the first time is soooo terrifying. sometimes you just have to full send it even if you are scared. maybe a friend can hold your hand as you drop in. hope you conquer the half pipe soon!
Angie Kay I did drop in already like 4 times, and one of them was valid, but ate it bad, and my back hurt so much for a good week or more, so now I’m so scared to repeat it ever since
Angie Kay update, I went for it today, and fell on my head pretty hard, my stupid ass wasn’t wearing a helmet, I guess I have too now, I rested for a while already, and I do feel better, thank fully it wasn’t so bad, now will be more confident in full gear
Ahh I had bruised many a buttcheck. I should repost my bails from my first attempts, they are painful for watch lol. I see you commented this 6 months ago, I bet you got it on lock now ;)
Great video! I'm our local CIB chapter organizer and I'm always looking for good tip videos for beginners. It's so exciting to teach someone to drop in for the first time - those smiles are the best!
Ahh that makes it so much easier right?? Dang, sorry that's all you got locally. I hope you get a chance to take a skate trip to a spot that has something less intimidating/scary. Best of luck!
I'm an intermediate skater, have been doing roller derby for some time, but MAN skate parks are intimidating, especially when they're packed with men, I'm literally terrified of being mocked more than falling hahaha. And trust me I've had countless of falls with derby. lol I'm such a chicken shit. :D
@SarahBeth Skating! Yeah, gotta give it a bit more of a chance, because like I said I am pretty huge chicken shit and maybe I'm building it all up in my head which is then preventing me from going again. But yeah, as soon as this quarantine mess ends Imma hit the parks again.
Girl I FEEL THIS!!! I was the only female quad skater today and I was surrounded by like 15 guys. They were all very kind and respectful of my skating space and they even cheered me on! One of them watched me wipe out from across the bowl and came over to make sure I was okay. I guarantee you, the boys at the skate park are so nice! I've yet to meet any that are worth being afraid of/arouns
LOVE THIS! Brazil has a special place in my heart, I've been there and I have a subscriber turned skate friend who won a channel giveaway here from Brazil as well. Happy skating! So stoked for you!
I haven’t been to a skatepark yet- but this vid gives me some confidence to start to understand the basics- I LOVE your kind encouragement- super helpful vid & awesome vibe ☺️ thank you, will be checking out more of ur vids for sure
Awesome videos! I’m a beginner skater ,(like super beginner barely learning how to skate backwards and jump), and I was wondering if you had any tips on what I should practice more in order to be a better street skater, or if you know any drills I should try to perfect...if you don’t that’s okay! 😬 Also , how long have you been skating?? I wanna be on your level already haha 🤣
Thank you so much! Yes, I LOVE passing on tips, I basically made this channel for skaters like you! So welcome :) I remember what it was like starting out as a beginner and wanting really bad to progress. I'm gonna make a video for you on those tips for you and some things to practice that helped me progress as a beginner when I started rollerskating! Sound cool? :) I've been skating around 2 years, I subtract the time where I had my shoulder surgery as most of that skating time was getting back on my feet so to speak ;) Love hearing from skaters like you, thank you for your comment and saying hello. Keep having fun skating and you'll surprise yourself one day with how far you've come, I promise. :)
great video! i really want to start learning to drop in but i'm still struggling with pumping (i keep losing momentum bc my back leg - my right leg - isn't as strong so i can't push as hard from the back). i've been practicing on a quarterpipe and i wish there was a 2 ft transition or something, but there's nothing shorter than the quarterpipe at the skate park in my town (and it's 30 min away from my house). i've been feeling kinda frustrated but your video gives me some hope and renews my excitement :)
Hey!! I skate at this park all the time. My daughter just did her first line yesterday and she is so excited.. Me? I'm learning to overcome my fear and go down that ramp in the middle. I went down the small metal ramp in Dalton but freaked out and went into the grass lol. But I pumped in the half pipe and it was super tricky getting used to metal ramps with hard wheels! I'm so excited to see my local parks in your video :D
Could you make a video for the step in drop in?? I can do it, but it doesn't feel great - especially when I hit the bottom of the ramp - and I have gotten to the point of overthinking and overanalyzing every time I drop in. Not sure if this is just where practice, practice, practice comes in or what but it feels like I am just really struggling with consistently getting a nice solid drop in which makes me feel less confident.
ik im 2 years late but do you think you could make a roller skate video on how to drop in without block slides ive been looking for videos and i could never find one
Hi, I have a question about your setup regarding grinding: I also skate the Avanti Aluminum plates, though the kingpin seems to be sticking out further than the trucks which makes doing 50-50s really hard. Do you have the same problem with the Avanti plates in combination with the CIB grind trucks? I really can't find any info about it..
YES! I got you! I made a whole tutorial walking you through step by step how I installed my CIB grind trucks on those exact plates! If you watch it you'll see there are two options, and I show you how I did it myself at home. Basically you need to cut the kingpins down. Here's the video! ---> ruclips.net/video/GFnzHWt43ys/видео.html
I feel like I chicken out once im down or im so just stiff because I can not drop it at all lol. I did it once but after that I continued to keep falling whether it was on my ass or forward lol. Idk what do to.
Yes! I tested it and answered that question/demonstrated dropping in and stalling using a pivot drop in in this video if you'd like to see! ---> ruclips.net/video/S4Mz_MIT4ac/видео.html

For real!!! The best feeling, I love that too.
my local skateparks dont have proper ramps like those, the closest thing is a bowl and the walls are tall and uneven so i feel really unsteady

I had a guy skate at me, quite intentionally. Jerk. I was just like WTF. He left soon after & I had the place to myself.
