  • Hi everyone, welcome to part 3 of this large commissioned abstract painting by Toronto abstract artist Lori Mirabelli. In this video, I'm working on adding layers of transparent acrylic washes /glazes using Liquitex glazing medium and Golden High flow medium. I'm using a large stain brush from Home Depot and a bowl scraper that I purchased from coldwaxacademy.com/shop/.
You are only seeing two of the panels together in this video. There are 3 in total. The overall size of this piece will be 18x13 feet.
My apologies for my sound, I don't believe I had my Yeti set up properly this morning. This is what happens when you rise at 4:30 am to edit a youtube video 😂😂
Pop over to my Instagram to see some other photos of the painting.
Here is the finished painting installed

I am so jaw dropped by the size and stunning beauty of this piece. This takes a butt load of confidence to go this big, but there is no hint of self consciousness in this piece. I’m in awe.

I love real time over timelapse. It's better for learning for me anyway. You're such an inspiration. Not just your artwork but your willingness to share your expertise without fear of others copying, or pettiness, etc. A clear indicator that you are secure in yourself and your art. Thanks again!

Hi Denise, thanks so much. I truly believe that being an artist is about being unique and having your own style. It's important for new artist to understand the copyright rules & law and how it's there to protect artists. If people are serious about wanting to become a painter, copying another artist's work will only hinder their potential and artistry. 😊 😊 😊 That's how I see it. 😂

The other one I do is lift your arm straight up in the air, then bend your elbow and touch your hand behind your head between your back wing blades. Hold and gently pull your bent elbow close to your head with your other arm . Hold this for 30 seconds. Again, do this gently, you don't want any of these to be painful or hurt. Do these 2 times a day. Once before you start painting, and once at the end of the day.
