My head says Glock...but my heart says 1911...
I know…
What does your wallet tell you? G21 is better
It’s a heavy pig but there’s just something about the way a 1911 feels in your hand.
You just got jammed 😅
I was one of those that bought a double stack 1911. I still prefer my G21.
For information purposes only: The Glock 21 is available to US Vets, with honorable discharges, for $464.20. The Colt 1911 Government Model MSRP is $699.95. Discounts are where you find them. Geoff Who got a Glock 19 and Glock 42 under the Blue Label Program last year.
Colt got a blue line program?
I’m a vet & just laid away a G21 & I was not offered a discount!!!
@@thomaspalmer7900 Were you at a Blue Label Dealer? Did they have it posted? Did you ask and have your DD250 with you?
I've been carrying a Glock 30SF for the past year or so...great gun, comfortable to carry all day, and very reliable, all for less than a good dependable 1911. I love the 1911, but for daily carry, the G30SF is a great option.
Same love the 30sf. Just got the g29 to replace it. Same size minus the pinky mag thing the g30 has
@@dickied2602 well, and it's in 10mm. That one's on my short list.
@Rob the 30SF is not "pleasant" by any means, and it takes some "boning up" to make for a good shooting session with this pistol...or any subcompact pistol for that matter. It's the tradeoff for having the reduced size and weight. I'd much rather enjoy an extended shooting session with my Kimber 5" with the bobbed aluminum grip frame, but as a carry pistol, the Glock wins for my carry requirements. It works...every time.
Yeah, the trigger is spongy, the recoil is a bit jarring and abrupt, and the accuracy attainable with the stock sights leaves much to be desired. It's also 2.5 lbs fully loaded with a 13 round spare mag, giving me 24 rounds of .45 ACP at my disposal, without consideration for the weather conditions.
Where I live, we have summers that tend toward triple digits from June until September, along with winters that range from nonexistent to polar vortices, depending on how strong the fronts are coming out of Canada in a given winter. More often than not, we deal with high humidity on a regular basis, and I do handyman work, meaning whatever i carry is going to be subjected to sweat, sawdust sheetrock dust, fiberglass insulation, rain, and various other negative issues. I love the 1911, but I can't be checking my pistol every evening and addressing rust, etc, due to sweat, humidity, condensation, etc. I've had this pistol since 2015, and carried it daily for the past 2+ years, since my 19 was stolen. It's a great tool and working man's pistol. It ain't pretty, and it has no refined manners, but it's simple, is extremely resilient, and it's utterly reliable.
Nice video. You are very much appreciated when you do videos like this. 1911's will always be near and dear to my heart.
The way the 1911 shoots and feels in the hand and the way a Sig sauer absorbs recoil feels like a ergonomic grip perfectly made to fit in your hands, holding and firing a Glock afterwards leaves you wanting. Glock is nothing but industrial functionality. It’s reliable and shoots straight.
I have that same edition of G21. The grip is a beast
I prefer the Glock 21
I own a Glock 21 and Glock 36. I had a Glock 30, but hated the block of a grip it has. I own a wide variety of 1911's. Here's the bottom line, I shoot any of the 1911's better than any of the Glocks. End of story, that is the determiner.
Exactly.
Your main determiner should be reliability, before anything else
I have 2. Springfield Armory A1 Mil Spec.45 & a Ruger SR1911 .45 absolutely love both!!! I did decide a few days ago to purchase my very first ever Glock 21 for the greater 13 round capacity. No I will never be a Glock fanboy but I think I will like the G21. I will be forever faithful & a true 1911 fanboy!!! I consider the 1911 the Rolex of pistols.
I love the 1911. I got a nice colt 1911. Had a Glock but after buying HK45C I’m going to unload the glocks in 45 acp.
Great video, Matt. I really like these vids and your format for them. As far as 45acp handguns go, if I needed one, I'd unhesitatingly buy a HK45c (second choice? I'd consider an FN, but would need to do some research and try it).
The Glock 21 Les money a new one $545 or less go for a used one $390 if you could find one buy it the 1911 about $1,300 and up also to clean it to much work the Glock much easier all Police department used Glock guns 😊😊
Well, I already have a Gen 4 Glock 21 with six 13 round mags so I guess I'll stick with that. I do love the 1911 though.
I have both and don’t daily carry either. Would be confident with either.
I have always been a 1911 guy. I carried a Wilson Combat 1911 for years. I recently bought a Glock 21 Gen 5. The Gen 5 is impressive. The improvements make a huge difference. Say what you will about the Glock 21 but it is a reliable, accurate weapon straight out of the box.
I have several 1911's, like you I am a fan boy. But I recently ordered a 21sf Glock to add to my carry options
I too have 2 1911 pistols & just ordered me a G21 as well. Can’t beat 13 rounds of .45 in a pistol!!!!
Great video Matt. Glock 21 ftw! 👍😀
Hell no he is a cheater.give the G a extension on the magazine .like the 1911 doesn't have 10rd mags
I whole heartedly disagree. If you’re going to add a 45ACP to your collection the CORRECT answer is the 1911. If you want double stacked , striker fired, etc you get another gun like a 9mm. No one ever says get a 357mag in your collection & go with a lever action rifle. They say get a revolver first. Same applies to a 45ACP. Get a 1911. Make the Glock your side chick not your main one.
The 1911 is an attractive handgun you could get it in stainless steel blue nickel plated whatever and dress up the grips the only problem is to carry it every day all day long it's just too heavy and you only have seven or eight shots in it and that's the large one the Glock 21 is much lighter you have 13 round magazine One in the chamber 14 rounds of 45 ACP you cannot beat that you could dress it up with night sights get a good holster and it won't let you down a lot of policemen carried us Glock 21 the Glock 30S is great for CCW 10 rounds One in the chamber you can't beat that much lighter also check out order Glock 45 ACP I'm sure you're fine one even if it's use go for it 🇱🇻💯👍
I like the CZ P10F 45
I have both on my carry rotation 💥
Glock great for someone who's not particular about trigger feel.
1911 can have a beautiful trigger with a little work.I like both.
I agree about the 1911...I've got four 1911s and a Glock 21...and Glock 30
I have both 1911 pistols & a G21 G4. I love both pistols but I choose to carry my G21 for my EDC pistol. Hard to beat that 13+1 capacity!!
As the owner of a Glock 21 and a 1911, which one of these pistol will I chose?
Yes
I can’t believe you didn’t mention which one can be cleaned in a dishwasher… 🤣
#1911Life
Where did you find the +2 extension?
I love carrying my 1911 it's one of my favorite guns my buddy has a FN FNX and that thing is so big and cumbersome it's uncomfortable in my hands.
For me...
Colt 1911. No doubt.
Wood + Stainless steel > Plastic + Melonite.
I honestly disagree because of things like the grip angle and terrible sights on the Glock. You can get a very reliable entry level 1911 for around the same price as a Glock and have much better features out of the box. With Glock you have to spend a lot more just to get it close to other pistols in the same price range out of the box. In reality though it is more about what trade offs a person is willing to make. Do they want more capacity and slightly less weight or something that feels great in the hand, points naturally and has better features? With that being said if someone wants a polymer .45acp I would recommend something like the FNX because they are great. Unfortunately the magazines are pretty expensive comparatively speaking.
You don't have to spend anything on a Glock. It's ready to go and near 100% reliable out of the box. 1911 on the other hand, probably needs wilson mags to be anywhere near as reliable as the Glock, and even then it still probably won't reach Glock reliability when placed in a variety of different conditions. These are objective statements, unlike your subjective statements of 'feels great in the hand', 'points naturally', 'has better features'
I have both. Like them both. A Glock 21, Gen3 and a Springfield Garrison 1911. If my life depended on it, I would grab the G21. Further more, I would take the G21 over the 1911. Even if a 1911 had the same ammo capacity it wouldn't change my opinion. The Glock has less recoil from my experience. The Glock has no hammer or safety to worry about. It's the perfect pistol for me. Also have a G19 gen3 that is my EDC piece.
I have both the Glock 21 and the 1911. Even though the Glock was my first handgun, I prefer the 1911.
Check out the SAR K2-45. 14+1, SA/DA hammer fired, Stainless, rail. Sweet at ~650.
I'm looking at getting an ATI Brand of 1911 in God's caliber, but I also wanna get the Glock 21 as well, just to have one in a classic design and the other in a more modern design... Both of course to use as personal defense handguns, as well as sport shooting pieces should I invest money in parts to upgrade them for any such sport shooting activities.
splits difference, buys hi-point 45
Lol
I've had a few glock 21, and for the life of just can't like it, I have large hands and it's still just not comfortable, and I'm not accurate with it, however, I'll stick with my 1911 day in and day out
16 rounds of 45 is serious firepower
I just love how there's so many good guns out there that people can have favorites and can't go wrong with either one p.s glock is better
In my hands
Nothing is more shootable than a 1911 in 45ACP or 10 MM
I'm running 10+1 mag in my 1911
A 1911 Guy and a Glock guy get teleported back to 1964
1911 Guy "Ooooh!.......I'm buying a GTO!
Glock guy....."I'm buying a Ford Falcon...... a car is just a TOOL !!!!
Hi point guy "I'm buying a used VW bug, because who cares about comfort, aesthetics, or reliability when you can get one for less than $100?"
I have a Para Ordnance P13 in 45acp. The Glock is to big for my hand. Give me a 1911 any day !
2 WORLD WARS!!!! 2 OF THEM!! AND OTHER CONFLICTS!!! ROAWRR WHERE'S MY ORANGE HAT!!!
Dear god bill calm down . Your heart will give out before you can tell them about the stoppin powah.
@@Dcm193 lol
@@Dcm193 “They all fall to hardball” 😂
I don't care for Glocks or other polymer guns so I'd go 1911 for 45acp. Second choice is CZ 97 bd decocker model for 45acp. If HK was metal framed I'd choose one of the USP tactical or the USP model Honest Outlaw reviewed not long ago. I can't remember which one he shot that day. Anyhoo, appreciate the videos Matt. 🐍🇺🇸
plastic bad
When its god caliber does it even matter
That's the problem with dudes like you saying the ugly squared-up clunky looking block is a better Choice cuz it's modern. But if it's the person's VERY FIRST HANDGUN they are not going to know. I can tell you the safety mechanism alone pushes more people to the 1911 than the GLOCK. THEN once they get hooked on that 1911 trigger pull they definitely will not like Glock. And you are a cheater too give the G an extension on the magazine, LIKE 1911S DON'T HAVE 10RD magazines by Wilson combat
1911 or FNX .45 tactical…two of the best .45s on the market
Let's see one jams like crazy and you have to spend a lot of money to get to run right, The other works perfectly right out of the plastic box g21
BULLSHIT
That has been my experience as well. I need my guns to be 100% dependable in a variety of situations, and while the 1911 is a pretty reliable platform, I simply need to be carrying a weapon that i KNOW is going to work when I need it to
1911 way better ☝️☝️☝️
When Glock reaches 100 years old than get back with me. 1911 all the way.
If Glock was created at the same time as the 1911, the 1911 would just be a footnote in the history books and the Glock would have been the sidearm of choice for over 100 years. The only advantages the 1911 has is that the slide is thinner and the trigger is light. The Glock has the advantage in just about every other category
I’m a Glock fan, and own many, but I’m going 1911 with this one. There is just something special about that fat .45 out of a 1911. If I’m going that size of Glock, I’d rather it be a 10mm G20.
Well, partner you are showing a glock against your favorite 1911 ? 🤨 SO tell us what brand it is since you love that 1911? Wonder after all this excitement why You left it behind and 4gotten on this video 😠
Glock.
Sootch is stealing your ideas, he just got one of the trade ins and dropped a video today
I'll go glock every time just for the mag compacity alone.
Plastic gun vs all metal gun try this your HKG3 runs dry your drop all 7 beretta mags beretta now dry bad guy pops up around the corner you hammer smash bad guys skull in and luck you bad guy has 5 beretta mags just wipe out the brains n blood and you Charlie mike Now a Glocks frame will split and is now useless so for extreme battle all metal weapons only
And if your a Man and you cannot handle the weight of a Mans weapon then buy the gurly glock
