I'm sitting in my living room on a hot summer evening. I have the front door wide open to improve air flow. Suddenly there are police at the door. They had been called for suspicion for the open door....
I understand that.... but what I didn't understand was the officer demanding ID or a utility bill to prove I lived there.
If walking by a darkened out building (on private property) can an officer use a flashlight to inspect the inside of a building without having a warrant or any probable cause?
What if you get a welfare check. You knock and no one answered. No one has seen the person. Mail piled up. door is unlocked. Can you enter???
What if a officer decides to execute warrant 5 minutes before warrant gets on site. The warrant is signed and on way so officer on site decided to start the search before it was on site?
Just need to leave a copy of it when you leave.
Do you need the warrant to be present if you have good faith it has been signed? Just curious, because arrest warrants are done without the physical copy present, but I am aware search warrants are held in a higher regard.

Because the warrant is claiming fraudulent status and the officer is used to getting away with it!
