I don't get what Taoist religion has to do with Tao and Daodejing etc. What I have seen here is a bunch of magical mumbojumbo and nothing that resembles Laozi's teachings.

Taoist Religion is very different than Taoist Philosophy. Much of the "religion" is traditional Chinese Folk religion operating under the umbrella of Taoism.

Welp its like other religions too, probably they have many sects. I had seen many buddisht, islam and christian sects that are different between each others.

Taoteching explains about Universe. Taoist religion uses it like the "logic" of the world, build the "heaven system" on it with god, angels, guardians, ... The taoist religion also has qigong with many practices from Taoya and may / may not have neidan which is super secret.
You could find "neidan" training online from some religion groups but most of practices are not real pratices from Taoya but more like downgraded practices
