Sad to see it torn down. Originally built for the 1942 film King's Row, this facade was part of Warner Bros. residential street for decades. Well known for being used in Elvira Mistress of the Dark, it was last used in the TV show Gilmore Girls as the character Dean's house. To those who have commented that it isn't important because it's not a real house, I'd remind you that this is still part of film history. It'd be a little like seeing them tear down the Munsters or Leave it to Beaver houses on Universal's backlot. When they're gone, they're gone.
I was at Warner Bros. backlot in summer 2013, sad to see a piece of Hollywood history torn down for a gift shop. The street it was in Hazzard county from the Dukes of Hazzard and was recently used for four years on Hart of Dixie.
Looks like fake windows... glass is single pane, window frames just made of cheap simple materials, seeing your post, I looked close. there are no counterweights or the usual guides and stuff, just the most rudimentary frame with glass and what looks like drapes just stapled in behind. There were however several very real lights hanging. not cheap ones either. They may be obsolete with new high efficiency lighting taking over, and so no good use. I hate to see waste too...
Sad to see a beautiful house like this destroyed until you see how flimsy it was built. If someone tried to move it the thing would fall into a pile of sticks.

Profit, dear boy, profit.
that WAS!!!!! a beautiful home i wish i could have seen the in side before they knocked it down
Usually, there isn't much to see. Search for video of the interior of the Bewitched house before that street was demolished.
I get that it's a fake house. But they still should have saved the windows, and trims. They were actually quite beautiful.
+Mango Studios Gaming They waste a lot of stuff here on the lot, but they do sometimes salvage.

Cool looking pole barn.
The house was located at Universal Studios, Hollywood.
Warner Brothers
It is bad that I love demolition videos
+Mason Last I just love destroying stuff.
+DonkeyFilms Yes it's great to smash stuff up. We go in abandoned buildings and bust up everything in sight!
+DonkeyFilms Hah I can't help but watch them myself even though I always feel slightly sad for watching something get demolished.
@@DonkeyFilms I do too!
@@PreservationEnthusiast damn! You are cool as fuck! 🤘
You're right! It's a fake. No interior, no rear windows. no wiring or plumbing.
Yea, I wondered why the whole thing shook as he tore into it.....it's a fake house
no.... American style of solid statics!
You can tell it's just a facade, because it was built quite flimsy compared to a regular house. And that's understandable
horrific, they could have disassembled it and her fans would gladly hVE BOUGHT IT AS MEMORABILIA
i have 1400 plus members of my Elvira group that spemds thousands upon thousands every month for a piece of MOD memorabilia so yeah we would have @
VERY NİCE HOUSE :(
🤔id still live in it idc if it's fake, its gorgeous! Id create my own interior 🤔😍😭
San Luis Obispo, CA?
it is a movie decoration :D
+alexxxxxx23 This is more satisfying than the regular videos of demolition
this is ripped in big sections, not 1 board at a time
No Plaster inside.................................Thus Façade.............
Maison en bois de poupée, à la première tempête elle s'envole !!
Wooden doll house, at the first storm it flies !!

Um, No one COULD move in. It's not an actual house!
It not a real house!!
@@davidpaul689 Yeah just a film set but it's fun to smash up old places anyway.
Few wood houses can withstand the attack by a multi ton machine with hydraulicks that can crush brick walls like sugar cubes...
Heartbreaking
+Robert Wood PA Not even proper house, smash that sucker up!
the house was empty no rooms and it looks like it's a toy doll house
Sequen-Ciel Scientific Correct, it is a facade.
Is Elvira homeless now? She can stay with me!!
looks like a barn that was made to look like a house on the front
Of course it was "made" to "look" like a house. It's not a real house. It's a "set" for movies!
at first it was really sad to see it demolished untill I saw it was not a real house
canadiancatgreen Still kind of sad because it was used in a lot of movies.
Michael Borquez I understand that
canadiancatgreen really sad. i wish i had the funds to buy it and have it moved onto my property.
Sadly they tear down priceless stuff all the time.
when the house was built
Dawson Logistics It was a facade on the Warner Bros back lot, built in the 1950's.
Oh my gosh!
The power Of hydraulics
oh
Nooo! Why did they had to demolish it? :(
Lucky Goldstar Music Making room for a gift shop. This was a house on the Warner Brothers Burbank lot.
Michael Borquez oh thanks for the info, I didn't knew it was fake. :)
