Book The Games of RJF gives time of players as W1h 44m - B2h 06m. Back then, the time limit was 2h 30m for 40 moves, and Fischer's last move was the 41th move, so neither player was in time trouble. Actually it was Fischer who took more time in the game.

It is too bad that Fischer didn't stay in the tournament. If he had he would have won it and then won the Candidates matches and then the title from then champion Petrosian. Just look what Fischer did 3 years later.

    • @wandering_soul11
      @wandering_soul11 16 дней назад

Not entirely. At this stage, Spassky was stronger than Fischer, a fact Fischer knew well and something Kasparov alludes to in his OMGP series
Whilst Fischer grew in confidence in the next few years and was the best player by 1971, in 1967, it would've been hard for him to beat Spassky

First, the Champion at the time was Petrosian. He was beaten by Spassky in their championship match. As for this guy you mentioned, why didn't he become champ in 1969? I never heard of him before.

    • @wandering_soul11
      @wandering_soul11 16 дней назад

@@BlckJack123 that was a typo. I meant Spassky.
Again, by the time Petrosian was going into the 1969 match, his results in tournaments were nowhere close to what they'd been. Spassky on the other hand was ascending.
Also, to say Bobby would've beaten Spassky is questionable as their individual record till then showed zero wins. I am a massive Fischer fan and love his game to bits but I also think people underestimate how strong Spassky was between 1966 and 1970.

Tactics is like ‘tricks’ a tactic in this game is like when Fischer captured his opponents knight with his Bishop but his opponent could not capture back because Fischer knight was in position had his opponent captured the Bishop Fischer’s knight would’ve forked the king and Rook that is a tactic a move that gives you an upper hand like a do or die situation where you must respond to a certain move but if you do you pay a penalty tactics are like tricks up the sleeve Chess puzzles are Great for learning tactics they are very helpful in knowing come game time they’ll help you win

2nd: What's it like in a parallel universe where 9LX is standard chess, and Garry really is Garry chess?
1 - People praise Wesley So, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Bobby Fischer & Anatoly Karpov. Agadmator & Levy are talking about Wesley & Nepo all day long.
2 - Garry really is Garry chess here.
Switch Bobby & Garry dates of birth. (Bobby's last name here is probably Nemenyi.) Meanwhile Garry Kasparov invented something strange called 'chess1' aka 'Kasparov Deterministic' where you have only 1 SP. Garry quits 1975 classical WCC Vs Anatoly Karpov, is arrested in Russia (instead of Japan), immigrates to Iceland & dies in 2008. 1975 is not a big loss but better because Bobby takes over. 1978 is Bobby vs Anatoly match of the century in Baguio, the Philippines! Idk what happens in 1981, but then 1984 Eugene Torre wins the candidates and faces (but then loses). Anatoly/Bobby! In 1976, I guess Eugene still beats Anatoly. Either Anatoly or Bobby. (Trivia: In our world, Eugene almost beat Bobby in 1992 in preparation for 1992 classical WCC.)
3 - Bobby is still alive in 2024. Bobby, Anatoly, Sergey Karjakin, Wesley, Nepo are on Lex Fridman's podcast while Magnus, Garry & Hikaru aren't.
4 - In 2019 inaugural world Kasparov Deterministic chess championship (WKDCC), Magnus beats Wesley in 3 classical chess1 games in a row in but no one cares. Fabi is still top 4 in the 2019 world chess1 championship but the top3 is now Liren. Nepo has never played a chess1 game, just as in our world Liren has never played a recorded 9LX game before 2024Feb.
5 - Wesley/Nepo doesn't quit 2023 classical WCC. Nepo/Wesley wins 2022 candidates and no one cares about Liren. Wesley So Vs Ian Nepomniachtchi is the biggest rivalry in chess, far exceeding as well as succeeding the next biggest rivalry Bobby Fischer vs Anatoly Karpov, like Better Call Saul to Breaking Bad. Wesley, & Nepo are both considered GOATs along with Bobby & Anatoly. There's no distinction between GOAT & MTOAT. There's a slight bias towards Wesley because Wesley is Bobby's nephew.
6 - Chess' popularity in the Philippines & Norway are inverted.
    6a
In our world, Bobby had radio interviews in the Philippines. In this world, Garry has radio interviews in Norway.
    6b
Prospero Pichay Jr is imprisoned and the Philippine chess federation is free from corruption. But Wesley still becomes American. Sad. Oh also, Magnus' parents are evil and then Magnus gets adopted by religious parents who are friends of Garry, so it's like Magnus is Garry's nephew (parallel re Lotis Key's older sibling lived w/ Bobby). The 2019 WKDCC is still like a pseudo - Bobby vs Garry, and it's billed as battle of thei nephews.
7 - But still no one really cares about chess1 because no one wants to have a headache over studying the same boring SP again and again. Also, its top players Magnus & Garry are still cheaters. But well ok maybe in rapid & blitz chess1 is picking up. (Same as our world. Actually, Magnus is right about keeping chess1 for rapid & blitz but having 9LX for classical.) So there's still a 2022 rapid world chess1 championship, half a century after the 1972 classical WCC, Garry's last FIDE match (eh, Garry can do a 1992 rematch). This time Hans Niemann wins beating Hikaru Nakamura on tiebreaks. This time Hikaru accuses Hans, but Hans still sues both Hikaru & Magnus. Ches***m is not sued and is just as good as lichess. Hans is still considered the next Bobby / Anatoly while Wesley & Nepo are still considered the current Bobby / Anatoly.
    8 - In 2024Feb:
    8.1
FIDE still cancel their 2024 WKDCC.
    8.2
Wesley & Nepo host a classical chess1 championship, invite Magnus & Liren and lose to Magnus & Liren but no one cares. People think chess1 will replace chess in rapid but not classical.
    8.2.1
Hans still isn't a cheater (as an adult) but still has beef with St Louis Chess Club and so doesn't play the due to scheduling conflicts, but Magnus & Hans are still going to eventually defend the, resp, classical & rapid world chess1 championships.
9 - In general, chess doesn't have that many cheaters, cheating incidents, baseless accusations, etc and has very little corruption, discrimination, treason, politics, etc. FIDE is hailed as 1 of the cleanest sports/gaming organisations. Chess is an olympic sport. Bobby/Anatoly are FIDE officials.
10 - Tiebreaks are settled by armageddon w/ auction rather than lower time controls, so Sergey & Fabi still lose to Wesley/Nepo in resp 2016 & 2018. But no one calls for change of tiebreaks to rapid time controls. Lol. Also, pre-arranged draws are so rare.
11 - Sergey isn't banned because Sergey only privately supports Putin because chess doesn't make people go insane unless the players want to stick to 1 SP only (Magnus, Garry, Hikaru, Liren, et al). Same w/ Anatoly & Bobby I guess.
12 - Actually here, Bobby has very neutral feminist enlightened political views and is a true patriotic Jew & American ( in politics in addition to still being such a patriot in chess ) while respectfully criticising both US & Israel along side condemning OBL & Ismail Haniyeh. So Bobby is still against 2003 invasion.
13 - Most importantly, no one cares about Garry, Magnus, Hikaru or Liren. Specifically, in this world, they care less about them as compared to Wesley, Nepo, Bobby & Anatoly in our world.
    14 - Paradise.
    ---
    P.S.
    Wesley So on Lex Fridman
    xcdhgq
    P.P.S.
    Interview while imprisoned
    Qt0S8G_fUbE
Pablo Mercado: So what is your advice to the Filipino chess players?
Uncle Bobby Fischer: Filipino - My advice is to give up chess and take up Fischer Random.
