  • Prove that 2+2=5 | Breaking the rules of mathematics.
    The one of the viral math equation is 2+2=5. It is not usual mathematical result that 2+2=5. However, it is easy to prove that 2+2=5. In this video, I show the solution of 2+2=5 through a funny viral math trick. Two plus two equals five is very common math trick, I am representing here in an attractive way of explanations. It is comparable to 0% financing on the car loan (don't take it seriously, I am kidding). I made this viral math equation and you try to find out where is the mistake in 2+2=5 math.
    I am launching a new series of video related to mathematics by the playlist 'Fun of Mathematics'. Video related to funny mathematics related things will be uploaded on every Tuesday at 2 pm Central European time.

    The problem is at 4(5-5) = 5(5-5). This is the same as 4(0) = 5(0), but canceling them out isn't something that you can do in this case. This is because dividing both sides by (5-5) would be the same as dividing by zero, since 5-5 = 0. When you divide by zero, any number can be equal to any other number.

  • @abhilakshyaarora7391
    @abhilakshyaarora7391 2 года назад +2307

    This is a great video.
    The mistake is in this step 4*(5-5)=5*(5-5)
    In this step you just cancelled (5-5) which is equals to 0,so basically you are dividing both the sides by (5-5) which is equals to zero , which means you are doing 0/0 which is undefined, that's 2+2 doesn't equals to 5.

    You have do the brackets before simplifying
    4 (5 - 5) = 5 (5 - 5)
    Now imagine transposing instead of cancelling
    It will be division :-
    4 = 5 [ (5 - 5) ÷ (5 - 5) ]
    The thing that you are doing wrong is the order of operations that is the PEMDAS or BODMAS rule
    Brackets come first
    If they are done firts so :-
    4 (5 - 5) = 5 (5 - 5)
    Brackets will be simplified to make 0
    So 4 × 0 = 5 × 0 = 0
    Note : Another thing that is wrong especially for grade 5 and 6 students who might not know this
    Brackets been done first and then division might cause this problem :-
    4 (5 - 5) = 5 (5 - 5)
    4 × 0 = 5 × 0
    Now you might think we can divide 0 from both sides and get
    4 = 5 × 0/0
    So any number upon any number = 1
    Same you will do with 0. So 0/0 = 1
    4 = 5 × 1
    This is clearly absurd because anything ÷ 0 is *Undefined*
    U may also get
    4 = 5 × 0/0
    0/0 = 1/2
    0/0 = 1/3
    And so on with different fractions or rational numbers
    This always gives absurd result

    Even though it's so easy, it's probably because it's not taught properly in junior high school or high school classes that there are so many irrelevant comments.
    LHS=4(5-5)=4(0)=0, RHS=5(5-5)=5(0)=0, so it is correct up to 4(5-5)=5(5-5) . Next, he made a mistake by dividing both sides by (5-5)=0. Both sides are in the state of "(non-zero numerical value) x 0 = 0". No matter what you multiply by 0, it will be 0, so this (non-zero numerical value) is also (a numerical value that can be anything). By dividing both sides by (5-5), the "0 part" disappears, leaving with "4" and "5" (which can be any numerical value). Thus, the strange "4=5" appears.

    2:29 Here is the Mistake
    You have eliminated 5-5 which is literally 0...
    You can never eliminate 0 from 0
    If you do it it will be 0/0 which is not defined
    Hence every laws of mathematics are as it is and you have broken that law to prove that...

  • @abdulqodirmir
    @abdulqodirmir Год назад +10

    2:27 Here the trick starts.
    Nothing happens willy-nilly. And, I cannot remove anything from equation just because I think they should go away. There, we had to divide by common number to get rid of unnecessary numbers. For example, if I have an equation: (360-35)*6=(245+X)*6, then I can erase both 6s in both sides which literally means: I AM DIVIDING BOTH SIDES BY that number 6. So, I will have (360-35)=(245+X) left. However, in the video, they are dividing by (5-5) zero (0) which is nonsense, isn't it?. Dividing by zero the trick begins.
    (Furthermore, in the beginning of the video he also said he was breaking the rules of maths.)
    [Thanks!]

    When cancelling 5 - 5 on both sides, you're essentially dividing both sides by 5 - 5. But thing is you can't divide by 5 - 5, cuz dividing by 0 ain't defined. Hence, cancelling 5 - 5 isn't possible. And thus, 4 not equal to 5. 🙂👐🏻

    No, it's wrong.
    We can't eliminate 0 just by cancelling it from both sides. The correct equation will be :
    → 4(5-5) = 5(5-5)
    → 4(0) = 5(0)
    → 4 × 0 = 5 × 0
    → 0 = 0
    Hence, 4 ≠ 5, i.e, 4 is not equal to 5.

    You cannot cross out (5 - 5) and (5 - 5) because 0 cannot be divided by 0 and crossing out literally means turning them into 1 by dividing. 0 divided by 0 gives math error as the result can be anything from 0 to infinity. Hence 0 divided by 0 is not accepted in mathematics.

    There's a pretty mistake in proof. You can't eliminate 0s if they are common on both sides .
    If you cancel any real no. by eleminating them. It means you are sending the number from one hand to another for division
    ab=ad
    b=d. [b=ad/a]
    but if you divide the value from 0 the value gets undefined. So the moment you eleminated 0s, value on either side got undefined

    From 4(5-5)=5(5-5), one cannot simply "cancel out" the 5*5 to deduce that 4=5.The reason is that both sides of the equation are equal to 0, and you cannot deduce any new equivalences between numbers from an equation that states that 0 equals 0.

    So what you did here
    0=0
    20-20=25-25
    (4×5)-(4×5)=(5×5)-(5×5)
    Now you have to follow PEMDAS first solve the brackets and then the exponents what you did was this:
    4(5-5)=5(5-5)
    4=5 This is the mistake
    2+2=5
    This is how you actually do it:

    0=0

  • @vishnavitummala6198
    @vishnavitummala6198 3 года назад +59

    Yes I catched
    the mistake, since zero is multiplying on both sides it is not to be cancelled out, because
    4*0=5*0
    4=5*0/0
    4=5*(0/0)
    Here zero by zero value is un determined, but not '1',
    So zeros (4-4, 5-5) are not to be cancelled since on division (0/0) it gives many values(since it is an undeterminate form) not only one.
    The numbers are only cancelled out which gives value one on division.
