Ive been to a handful of ToDs over the last few years and im so glad that its getting the attention it deserves but im also mad because now finding seats in the track stands is impossible
This is honestly one of my favorite events I've seen covered by 1320. The "skid car" event brought me back to 2002-2004 time frame of when my friends and I were first getting our licenses. Obviously F&F (Fast & Furious, street's closed pizza boy.... and too soon hitting that nitrous Brian, lol) really skyrocketed the import scene, specifically in my area a TON of hondas. Anyway we used to go into McDonalds or Taco Bell and just take stacks of trays that were left on top of the garbage cans. I think you fellas know where I'm going with this.... Put those babies underneath the rear wheels, engage e-brake, and then do "doughnuts" super fast until the trays were grinded down to basically nothing. Ah good times. This event is really cool in my opinion. The stuff us humans do for entertainment doesn't get old. I'd love to participate in one of these, I'd do every category except maybe launching a ford focus 100+ ft off a ramp into cars, but thats just me. Thanks 1320 for filming this. Super cool.
It would be cool to see 1320 cover a proper demolition derby. There's a lot more tech and skill in building and driving those cars than most people realize.
This was a true bone stock derby. The derbies I'm assuming you're referring too are the ones you have to build the the Cars up so they don't bend or break. Our derbies are just fun cause most of the these cars are one and done.
@@FastSS02 Very fair point. I was trying to point out that he's a hell of a driver though, he hops into whatever new vehicle that he's never done before and basically shreds it first try. But you're right about the difference of a soapy track.
Y'all should go to the Halloween howler in epping nh at star speedway. It's very similar to this, but the 4/ 6 cylinder class usually has 200+ cars alone
We used to go down to the local figure 8 races every Saturday years and years ago, and while they were entertaining, this is like the Mad Max of all demo racing for both spectacle and variety. Totally wish they would have come up with these kind of stuff way back when. Basically all the hijinks of post-highschool parking lot funness in one event!
I love the moment at 0:42 when he is talking about how it’s all safe etc and in the background there are 2 guys kicking the car and mirror off like there is no tomorrow😂
Can they hire about 30-50 of those street takeover cats, so the crowd can roast tf out of them while they spin around like clowns, running each other over? 😂😂🤨

Every time I see bus racing, it reminds me of this one time a bus went through the wall at my old home track. You can find a video of it called “Columbus Motor Speedway bus crash 2009!”. I witnessed it in person too.
Makes sense that fullsize V6 FWDs would be pretty ideal for this kind of stuff - FWD & lots of power to pull you out of inevitable oversteers, possibly even while someone is trying to drive your rear around, nice heft to take the beating and give you some stability, longer wheelbase for further stability, reliable ol' NA V6s(as long as they weren't OHC V6s from GM in this era...) with 4 & 5 speeds. And the Honda stuff has 'more sporting' suspension than most, which certainly helps to maintain that corner speed. My heart wants to say that the Panther chassis(Crown Vic) is the king, but my head knows that a god forsaken FWD NA V6(probably with an awful slushbox as well) is no doubt the best option for this form of motorsport lol. - Feel like a Taurus SHO could be a weapon in much of this(just don't do it to one in any kind of reasonable shape, I mean have some respek!) - A Neon SRT4 or a Cobalt SS may be questionable, but a riot no doubt - how about adding a 2-step for entertainment purposes? - A Mini, especially a Cooper S, would absolutely be a questionable AF choice, but would absolutely be incredible as well(surely a fan favorite) - Fullsize LS-powered FWD GMs would be hilarious too; this era of GM was unreliable, poorly designed & built, and probably can't hold up to this abuse, but hey they came with an LS!!! And no one likes those cars anyway, even if they are "special high performance(LOL)" models! - Surely you can pull the rear driveshaft and figure out how to run an AWD G35 in FWD... right? - Or maybe do the same to a total shitbox beat to hell WRX LOL I think I could have as much fun finding and building a relatively unique car for this stuff as I would competing in it @21:10 - Car jump dude is unbuckling literally immediately after the INITIAL impact lol, what a mad man. I think he's done this before...
I used too race at a small track that had figure 8 and the race they need to add is a chained 8 where you have 3 cars chained front car has engine no brakes middle car no brakes no engine third car brakes no engine fun race to watch be a good addition
When this video first started I guarantee some of you thought to yourself like I did. "If I was entering these events what vehicle would I choose"? No kidding the vehicles that came to mind was a Honda or Toyota powered V6. Then I thought to myself that it would need to be something midsized, steel body with a decent amount of torque. The few that came to mind was a Manual V6 accord or TL. Or an⁴4 Odyssey or some type of late 90's early 2000's 1JZ or 2JZ Lexus. After watching this it looks like the build quality, power, and reliability outmatches the competition!
The Dakota balance is pretty cool BUT we saw our buddy Cleetus do the same around the Freedom Factory in his Danger Ranger pick up,, AND he jumped it over the ramp ON 2 wheels to finish the lap! 🙂

Makes you realize how good of a driver Garret is when even the professional stunt guys can't make a full lap on the side two wheels!
Garrett also used a FORD MFin RANGER 😂
