I do see a lot of people have a special love and bond with their pets in Goa. I think we should consider having a carnival parade for our dogs and other animals, get the dogs/pets all dressed up in costume w/o their owners, and have a small participation fee with all the funds donated to a dog shelter/s. There are several folk that donate their time and money to feed the strays, we should make them the grand marshals....just a thought!

On another note my Tia used to always say never to eat pork in the months which do not have an R in them, I should have asked her why ,but I was too busy eating. Also interesting is how the fish thali has evolved , in the 90s we never had tismur in the thalis . It used to be prawn curry with fried fish , one veg , pickle and salad.

When you get a chance, you can try BANDEKAR BAR & restaurant in Agonda South Goa. Women cook the food and it's delicious. Try Moong Aloo curry in veg thali, Chonak Thali, Prawns and Chicken thali. We loved it.

It is good to promote these restaurants that serve authentic Goan food apart from of the non-Goan foods. As I am not sure International or domestic tourists would be looking out for these restaurants. I am somewhat surprised that these restaurants can afford to offer such a wide variety of dishes...looking at the menu, I saw Indian and Chinese dishes too! Because we know most Indian dishes are prepared over a long period of time and are unique in their own unique way. In contrast, Italian Pasta that can be prepared ahead of time, and then quick sauce can be cooked up for the different Italian dishes. But with Indian food each dish has to be cooked from beginning to end as each needs its own set of spices. I always need a nice environment when I am dinning out, that is just the 'art and design' in me. Some folk are just satisfied with a very good meal and could careless what the place looks like. At times I might occasionally do that if the food is so exceptional. Part of the charm of eating out is the full dinning experience. Having a nice place that is pleasing to the eye, to relax in. Thanks for selecting a restaurant that checks all the boxes. This is another one that I am adding to my list.
