I agree, if the hyper aggressive sonnen that fought silva turns up, its a huge problem for anyone. People seem to think that if sonnen cant take him down, he wont/can't do anything, but they dont understand the reason he was able to strike with silva is because if you're going to defend against the takedowns you have to comprise your striking a little your stance has to be adapted, you can only throw certain kicks if any, its possible he can put jones out of his element the same as silva.
thank you for the video I did NOT know Jones vs. Sonnen was fighting today on 27th April. i KNEW about zab judah and Danny garcia. the BOXING this weekend seems more exciting than UFC 159 best wishes
I believe a small amount of fear is healthy in any fighters career. It reminds them they're still human, and fallible. Sonnen always has that deer in the headlights look, but like you said, he goes in and puts in work, win or lose. I love watching him fight.
I watched Chael working out in a closed training session! He was practicing "falling and getting up", "falling and getting up", then "falling and not getting up", to the sound of an ambulance!
Dunno why you're worried about Sonnen. He walks around at about 230 which is about the same as Jones if not more. Same with A Silva who also weight around that and has done a couple light heavyweight fights.
What kind of insane technique does he have? how about the one he used to submit Machida, and Vitor, and Bader, and Rampage? oh and the one he used to destroy Shogun and Vera... Jones only wins cos he is too strong and too tall? what does that say about the guys he beat? if they can't handle a 6'4 skinny dude who has "absolutely no skill" like u imply, then they all absolutely suck right? I wonder why Struve is not champion right now.
Rogan said he is "technically" undefeated, he was dominating Hammill the whole fight and was definitely the winner, but the blows to the back of the head got him DQ'd. Just like Silva got DQ'd at Rumble on the Rock for upkicking Okami, and then Okami saying he couldn't continue so he won by DQ.
wow, chael looks different, i think hes going to show a better performance at lhw then he did at mw, he isn't cutting 200lbs anymore and hes finally resting in fight week and not getting sick
I saw Chael at the hardware store yesterday. He's putting together an IRONMAN suit of armor with poison spikes all over it! With this he has a chance of winning! I hope Jon brings his can opener with him to the fight!!!
I just researched this now: Santos Dumont invented the woman's TAMPON not the airplane. The Wright Brothers did that at Kitty-hawk in the good old USA in the early 1900's.
Yes sir, this ones not hard to see the outcome, is it? Heres a question though...Jones has never been taken down in the ring, Will Sonnen take him down at least once? I really dont know...
I agree. Jones isn't more skilled than anyone he's fought. He's really strong and has a huge reach advantage over everyone in the division. That's why he wins fights.
True, I wouldnt go so far and say that he is the greatest (not yet), but he certainly could go on to be the greatest. I like both fighters for this fight. Nobody can promote a fight like Chael, and Jones always puts on a great display in the ring. Cant fucking wait!
Don't forget that Sonnen is the only man to completely dominate Anderson Silva every single minute they have been in the cage together. He shouldn't be written off so quickly. I say Bones via TKO in the 3rd, but Sonnen might make it interesting for a little while.
Don't ever ever underestimate wrestling over striking.. I rather have a wrestler over a striker. Remember guys all the fighter that fought Jones try to try with him that's crazy. I truly believe sonnen is gong to make a wrestling match cause he knows he don't stand a chance standing up with him
Not really theres a reason why he is called ''bones''. Chael looked really built and actually looks great at 205, but jon looks very lean because of his height.
Sonnen is a good match up for anyone in the middle or light heavyweight divisions and usually is able to grind down his opponents because of his wrestling. He will not have that advantage against Jones, once Jones calms down and finds his range look for an early TKO in this one folks.
"Joe, I’m just happy you and everybody can be here to witness this. You’re gonna tell your kids’ kids’ kids that he was real, he existed, the myth of Chael Sonnen stood before us. He brought down the hometown hero, and when it was all said and done, it was one more in the record books, one more in the win column and one more for the bad guy!" - The American Gangster, Chael P. Sonnen
There's a difference between being arrogant and believing in your skills and knowing what your capable of. Dude is nowhere near arrogant if anything Sonnen is.
You say it like he's scared or something? Its something he does to keep composure and ready himself better! i don't see how what someone does in a weigh-in should matter in a fight.
Sonnen seems either unsure of his chances against Jones, or just has a much higher level of respect for Jones than he has for his past opponents... or so it seems.
Let's be realistic. I don't see Silva being able to keep up with the strength and power of Jon Jones. I would like to see Cormier drop down to fight Jones. Cormier is an Olympic wrestler and it would be interesting to see how Jones would go about that. I don't think Machida has a chance really, but you never know I suppose.
Jones is a awesome guy, I'm starting to like him, poor guy broke his toe btw xD
Sonnen was right every time you enter to a room when I'm here you need to look down to the floor lol
What an awkward staredown.
they took that much more professionally than i thought they would...

Jones was like, "Speak to the scalp, cause dis homie don't wanna hear it."
He avoids eye contact when he's seriously angry with bad intentions in mind.
Chael actually has that look of 'oh, now he's pissed...'
Win or lose, Chael Sonnen brings more entertainment value then any other fighter in the UFC today.
he avoided eye contact with Rampage and Rashad while they gave their best "Gangster" face... and you see how that worked for them
I believe a small amount of fear is healthy in any fighters career. It reminds them they're still human, and fallible. Sonnen always has that deer in the headlights look, but like you said, he goes in and puts in work, win or lose. I love watching him fight.
Both are BEASTly gentlemen.
dammit! your pic fooled me! thought there was actual bug on my monitor and tried squishing it ha.
I watched Chael working out in a closed training session! He was practicing "falling and getting up", "falling and getting up", then "falling and not getting up", to the sound of an ambulance!
Love him or hate him, Jon Jones looks like he is in FANTASTIC shape!!!
Damn Jones is in PHENOMENAL SHAPE...SHREDDED!
Dunno why you're worried about Sonnen. He walks around at about 230 which is about the same as Jones if not more. Same with A Silva who also weight around that and has done a couple light heavyweight fights.
Jones never looks anyone in the eyes, he just fucking destroys them.
He was still in guard, he wasn't out!
NEVER thought I'd say this...
Go Sonnen!!
dude your picture for your thumbnail scared me
he never looks anyone in the eyes, dude is a killer. mean mugging won't win you a fight, but bone-crushing elbows will.
One more for the record books, one more for the win column and one more for the bad guy
Respect, doesn't wanna make it personal so avoids eye contact. Fedor does the same thing.
undefeated in ufc brother!
That's a no-contest, not a loss.
The literal meaning of "STAREDOWN"
yeah, dude i assumed that. I didn't think you were a literal sniper in real life. i was joking.
What kind of insane technique does he have? how about the one he used to submit Machida, and Vitor, and Bader, and Rampage? oh and the one he used to destroy Shogun and Vera... Stfu
Lol I see you
This is going to be interesting I like both fighters who ever wins will be the better fighter.
man jones looked like a beast screaming
well i just hope we have a good entertaining show and that Chael doesnt get seriously hurt.
one of the most freak accident plagued UFC events i ever saw. 3 EYE POKES, BROKEN THUMB, AND BROKEN TOE
Chael was like WTF is he doing
So many ways both of them can loose. Can't wait to see it!
Jones trying to be like Fedor and not look at his opponent in a stare down.
If you didn't understand it, he did it as one would "Look down" on someone.
Sonnen looks very concerned at the end there.
Another difference is that Chael can speak and actually put coherent sentences together, and Floyd cannot.
There's a spider on my screen.
jones never looks at his opponents in face offs
OG Staredown. +a throwaway Fight.
AND FINALLY WHO "DISCOVERED" THE ELETRICITY WAS Thales of Miletus!!!!
He's done it forever. I like it...
read my comment again. i was reffering to the majority of fans, not the fighters. i respect the fighters

Lol Chael is like, "wtf?"
if Chael some how wins this through a submission or tko, i will laugh so hard
When Brazil gets computers I want you to "Google" the inventors of these creations and you will see that I'm right.
"Undisputed, undefeated"-Joe Rogan
Umm, Matt Hammill has to say about that.
Chael has decreased his insults in this fight, hes learned from his fight against anderson haha
OMG! Sonnen looked so scared. At the end of the video he looked absolutely terrified, as he should be.
I just researched this now: Santos Dumont invented the woman's TAMPON not the airplane. The Wright Brothers did that at Kitty-hawk in the good old USA in the early 1900's.
the fact that sonner says it is his last fight pretty much says he will loose
Was pretty short notice. More like declining a favor, than cancelling a show that came up pretty left field.
its because he has insane technique and knows how to use his reach, if it was about being tall Stefan Struve would be heavyweight champ
I've never really noticed how big Chael's arms were lol
some people dont like to look into the eyes of there opponent before a fight, it can syke you out mentally and it haunts some fighters
Chael looks frightened, cmon bones make it another win son!
At least both of them bowed
Yes sir, this ones not hard to see the outcome, is it? Heres a question though...Jones has never been taken down in the ring, Will Sonnen take him down at least once? I really dont know...
I agree. Jones isn't more skilled than anyone he's fought. He's really strong and has a huge reach advantage over everyone in the division. That's why he wins fights.
You are a proud and noble Brazilian who is easily intimidated. That only shows your weakness.
I know its extremely unlikely, but it would be awesome if Chael pulled an upset. It would be funny to see the reactions afterwards.
is everyone already forgetting that Machida is fighting for the belt next???
True, I wouldnt go so far and say that he is the greatest (not yet), but he certainly could go on to be the greatest. I like both fighters for this fight. Nobody can promote a fight like Chael, and Jones always puts on a great display in the ring. Cant fucking wait!

Give him all Hell Sonnen / West Side
Jones my favorite fighter and I like Chael as well with his WWE-like promos LOL
Not really theres a reason why he is called ''bones''. Chael looked really built and actually looks great at 205, but jon looks very lean because of his height.
EVERYONE PLEASE LOOK AT CHAELS EYES AT THE 37-39 SECOND MARK. STRAIGHT FEAR. I NEVER SEEN THAT FROM HIM....IT'S OVER
He didnt get beat, he was disqualified for throwing illegal elbows
Sonnen is a good match up for anyone in the middle or light heavyweight divisions and usually is able to grind down his opponents because of his wrestling. He will not have that advantage against Jones, once Jones calms down and finds his range look for an early TKO in this one folks.
He makes weight and that's what matters. If the others are small, they should find a way to drop down a weight class.
You can't seriously call that a loss. That was a fight he was clearly winning and it should have either been a win or a no-contest.
"Joe, I’m just happy you and everybody can be here to witness this. You’re gonna tell your kids’ kids’ kids that he was real, he existed, the myth of Chael Sonnen stood before us. Sonnen
UFC 159 eyes will be poked, Bones will be broken.
Chael looks much healthier at 205. At 185, he weighed in looking like christian bale in "the machinist"
Someone needs to explain a 'face-off' to Jon Jones. You're not meant to stand there and count your opponents toes....
Only one thing is for certain, Sonnen will bring the fight to Jones - you got to respect that.
he actually stared down many opponents...BEFORE he got the belt. I remembered him staring Rampage down, but did he have the belt yet?
Jones has a big difference with the lion from his twitter pic: the lion ALWAYS looks his ennemy straight in the eyes !
There's a difference between being arrogant and believing in your skills and knowing what your capable of. Dude is nowhere near arrogant if anything Sonnen is.
Well its certainly going to be interesting to see it go down. I for one don't think it'll be as one-sided as a lot of people think...
No. Jones broke that toe doing that cartwheel after the fight.
I think they're negating the Hammill debacle where he beat the holy hell out of Matt and was DQ'd.
No we're not.
You say it like he's scared or something? Its something he does to keep composure and ready himself better! i don't see how what someone does in a weigh-in should matter in a fight.
They should have said instead of please welcome the challenger. Please welcome Jones next victim. Hell yes!
Sonnen is from Portland, Jones is from New Youk. I know is home town. I prefer L.A., But I live in Goiânia, Brazil.
Sonnen seems either unsure of his chances against Jones, or just has a much higher level of respect for Jones than he has for his past opponents... or so it seems.
you just made it for him
Anderson silva was the first UFC fighter to bow? Holy fuck I never knew that!
Damn bones is ready he looked like the damn terminator
Midnight to six elbow? You make it seem like he elbowed him for six hours! That ain't how it went down, homie. I saw the fight.
