DailyMTBRider give Seth a call and have him hook up this kid with a new Diamond Back so he's really set. Good pub for your and his channel....that is if Seth still rides for DB?
I've got 4 pairs of Van's for doing trail and some mild downhill riding and don't think I'll ever buy anything else. They grip my RaceFace Aeffect flats perfectly, my feet never slip off of those.
I remember meeting you back when I worked in the FSA Warranty department and you picked up FSA as a sponsor. I thought the concept of your show was really cool and original. Way off the cuff from most mountain bike RUclips channels. I never really watched your channel before because I gave up mountain biking years ago when I moved away from Olympia. I live downtown Seattle now and never leave the city. Anyway...out of four videos I just watched this is the second video where i have seen you use your RUclips power to benefit other riders. This is awsome. Your walk around SeaOtter gathering swag and giving it away to people doing the manual machine was awsome. This is even more awsome hooking this kid up with gear. Nice dude!
And that is cool. I used to ride road 25 miles every night and tried 100 on Saturdays. Slow as poop not sure I ever made the 100. But the guy I rode with . Old bike old old old campi components. A helmet that looked like it was out of the 30s . Old shorts and some old as f Tennis shoes. Sob would be on his way back half way before I got half way to the turn around. Then I never saw him after the first 3 miles on the 100 Saturdays... whe n I got back to my car he would be long gone..
It's cool that since you're growing as a channel and companies want to sponsor you and send you free stuff that you use that as an opportunity to pass it on to others in the MTB community. I know that at the end of the day it's advertising for competitive cyclist and others, but you're using that power for good and it's appreciated!
Fun! I started out riding mountain bikes, then switched to road biking, and now finally came back home to the real fun stuff and am back to my first bicycling love...mountain biking 😍
I bought my 2017 Santa Cruz 5010 CC XO1 from Competitive Cyclist. Then followed up 9 months later and bought a set of Santa Cruz carbon Reserve i9 wheels from them too. Really good experience both times.
7:06 I got the same tool, pretty much has all the tools you need in a multi tool. I had a 11 tool multi tool from Lezyne before, but did not have everything I needed, I needed the 2.5mm for when the reach adjustment goes out of adjustment, happens sometimes, I of course add Loctite but you can't always make it so everything is perfect all the time, so important to have a tool for every job, but I haven't used a chain breaker on my own bike yet, had to use chain breaker once for a kid who tried a trials bike in jeans of course he got them stuck, but it's a important tool to have when you need it, if chain snaps you might be able to make it work with quick links and chain breaker, it has not happen to me since triple chainrings on my old bike. the 8 mm is ncie for the race face cranks, and to connect the 16mm for the cap, if it loosens, happen some times, but rarely happens as I use Loctite 24, but eventually it will happen.
for stability I recommend catalyst pedals, it makes a difference shoes can't make ,I won't repeat everything about them, but great combo with freeride shoes, and no need for even stiffer sole which does not fix the problem,I can definitely feel a difference, combining both gives a great result for me. I use Freerider shoes too, but high version, they also keep my feet cooler than other versions would,
Xvideo you need to show a kid how to be excited when someone gives him free stuff and how to be thankful more like this. WOW! WOW! REALLY REALY... NO WAY DUDE YOJ ARE JUST GIVING ME THIS STUFF. NO WAY DUUDE. I LOVE IT. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU... Dont think I even heard that... these kids are so entitled.. I would have creamed my pants...
i feel like other people less fortunate than him could have got this but at least on the bright side a kid like me got mountain biking stuff, knowing money doesnt come cheap. Have a nice day everyone!
Hey josh, my I am a highschooler in a small town in southwest kansas. I have a Nukeproof Mega, a pretty enduro bike for where I live. I have always wanted to start a biking club or something of the such but we just don’t have the terrain to boost skills. The only public trails are a single track/walking trail in a park. Do you have any suggestions on growing the mtb community? Thanks
I went over 15 years without using a helmet and I'm one of the ones that just wears whatever is laying around the house when I go on my rides. Those clip shoes and bike clothes costs more than I'm willing and able to afford to spend. I would rather put any spare money towards upgrades so I can keep riding everyday.
When I got into mountain biking I bought a good helmet then just slowly bought shorts, gloves, shoes. No knee pads as of yet. I had to get a good helmet from the start because I have had so many head injuries from the past ( not bike related). Believe me protecting the head is the most important unless you would like headaches daily, seizures, dizziness, memory loss . Tbi is not fun.
That's cool that you got him all this nice, niche gear; I bet hes really stoked about it. It does add to the feeling feeling put out by all these social media influencers that you NEED to have best bikes, or suspension, or all this specialty stuff in order to make sure you get out and ride your bike, everyday. I like your channel but I think your original message might be getting a bit lost with your growth.
@@jakefeeman4019 Why do you need "riding" shorts or $150 mtb specific shoes? They're nice but it's a luxury. It's especially a luxury when you're talking about a teenager who grows three sizes in one summer. Also $700 a lot to spend on a bike for most people.
I never rode with knee pads, i hit a tree stump skinned my knee cap and broke it clean in half, its taken me 10 years to ride again. THE first thing i bought after my bike was some decent knee and shin pads
Not to be mean but he seems quite ungrateful considering the gear he got as a surprise. He was just throwing the kit in a pile on the floor and said "oh, I'll probably never use that". Like WHAT THE HECK. I saved for over a year for my kit and I was almost in tears when it arrived at my door.

What is the model of the Dakine knee pads?
Sadly, I'm European so i can't.
No

@@DailyMTBRider I wish I was Chris/: I have a 1998 Kona hahanna. I want to keep the frame and upgrade it to hit the trails.
Lucky kid. I use vans for enduro riding and still hoping for Santa to bring Five Ten free riders next Christmas. Haha
JPF tuned using vans for enduro is dope af :D just dont use the new comfy foam type vans. My pedal completly shredded it in 2 weeks
@@hobbesthetiger7468 yeah its dope but its not as grippy as the freeriders when riding wet trails. Haha

Doesn’t really matter. I’m 13 and win enduro races with vans
That was really cool of you to hook that kid up, but I have to imagine that Isaac was like "....dude...where's MY stuff?"
Hahaha I love his cautious “wow... thank you...” like Josh was gonna say SIKE this stuff actually isn’t for you😂
Way to go Josh! I love that he's riding that DB Atroz
@Brian Breen How do you like it? I love my Release
I have a line I love it
Rip I snapped my atroz
Seriously Josh, you're killing it with all this "giving" stuff. Love it.
Thanks Nathan! The more the channel grows the more I want to give back!
Awesome Josh. We need more people and companies to do stuff like this. Give more and we will get so much more. Great job.
Very nice. I have been buying from Jenson but will give Competitive Cyclist some business for taking care of this kid.
You’re kindness never ceases to amaze me. Keep it up Josh!
