These 90s Batman 4Ks really show what you can do with a true native 4K scan and DI. Actually deserve the 4K logo on the case unlike a lot of these faux K discs at the moment. Absolutely phenomenal transfers.
Also, something I think people need to be aware of, I downloaded Batman and Batman Returns in 4K on the Google Play Store. Batman does not include the audio track including the updated sound effects (gunshots, punches, batmobile) The picture quality is there, but it seems to be the old audio.
What is it with 4k and respecting the color in some shots and competing changing the color in other shots? Some work, but others feel like they've been given an orange and teal wash.
There's no doubt the new transfer is gorgeous. It's a shame the movie content couldn't somehow be improved as well. While Burton's '89 Batman's colors were cooled and the contrast was pushed, Batman & Robin's visuals shine. I'm tempted to watch this new disc simply for the visuals.
The regular HD disc in the package is mastered from the new 4K scan and color grade, so its image is greatly improved over the previous Blu-ray. It also includes the new Atmos mix.
I wonder if this transfer is a new aspect ratio, or if the print was reframed for this scan, or if the screen caps are not timed perfectly. Most of, if not all of, the screen captures between the two discs show more or less information on all four sides of each frame.
Hands down one of the worst Movies Alicia Silverstone has ever been in. Just throw the bluray and 4k bluray in the trash. Forget that this travesty ever existed. She probably could have been a half decent Batgirl if it had a better script. This whole movie is a joke and I know people claim that it was for KIDS but I think even KIDS would think this movie is hot garbage.
The 4k looks darker but more defined, plus that ice really pops.
