Don't know about underappreciated. When I started playing guitar I had bought a magazine that did a top 100 guitarists and Adam was like nr.10 and at the time didn't know who he was, looked him up and the rest is history.

If your not a fret board burner it’s hard to get widely noticed. The great songwriters and sound creators are taken for granted by the casual music fan. People like Adam are musician’s musicians or are appreciated by real music nuts.

Same here with Danny Carey. He’s what got me hooked on tool. Just the creativity in his drum lines. He’s become my main inspiration for how I write and play. Pure genius

It’s a really weird situation. I love all genres except new-age country. I’m talking all of the EDM sub-genres, all aspects of rock, rap, hardcore, metal, hip hop. But I don’t really want to listen to any thing else other than Tool. I never grow tired of it or want to listen to anything else. It’s frustrating, enlightening, and overwhelming at times.

From there it was Hammerstein Ballroom in NY, Fox Theater in Detroit and then to Pittsburgh. All and each of those shows cost $66.66 and each venue sat about 2,500 or less. This is one of if not the best video footage of Tool live! You did an outstanding job of viewing in on all them when they are shining. Most live videos of Tool either stay zoomed out too far to capture the whole band or zoomed in on Maynard or Danny the entire time. You balanced it out very well!

I have seen Tool about 7 times in my life since Undertow and I love them more the older we get. Only Pink Floyd hits more deeply in my soul than Tool!!! Thank you guys for the years of joy. Loved you guys since I was 16 years old!!!

I really just didn't realize what highly professional musicians/vocalist TOOL has. These guys kill it every song. They are just as good live. Can't get over it. Seriously. I may have to drive down to Vegas in February. Lol. They are that good. They have songs that are 15 minutes long and you don't wanna miss a second of it. Crazy

In some parts, it's almost as if the person recording knows exactly when to focus on Danny and Justin, and then proceeds to not do that. But, alas, it's all right - I know it's not easy to simultaneously record and fully take in the awesomeness that is Tool.

  • @alricthered226

I want to thank the people who put these videos together. Looking for an official release of any of Tool's tours, I learned that they've never released a home video of any of their concerts, and have strict rules to prevent bootlegs and such. I wish there were better angles here, but it's an amazing capture in any case. Thanks. This is epic.

  • @cynzia_d

''Flood'' has always been one of their best songs on the first record and it has a very Alice in Chains influence in the introductive part, and then it develops in a sort of prog-rock heavy metal theme.
In this concert they have started to develop the Carey/Chancellor rhytm war machine more than before.
I mean, in Lateralus there was a lot of Justin leading on the sound and the riffs, but here the rhytm section is more defined, more noisy, more intense than ever.
I love this version of Tool.
Been addicted on the first periods, on the first year since i have discovered them, so this is an absolute surprise to understand their evolution. The thing i can perceive is a very disilllusioned Maynard, very quiet and concentrated on his singing. Suppose this was the 10,000 DAYS tour, isn't it? So it was a deep spiritual searching period for him. This album is much more heavier than the others in some ways.

Once we finally got in they were just finishing up their last song-Jerk! It was SOO crowded I just remember seeing the top of Maynard's head as they finished up & walked off. It totally SUCKED, but a memory I'll never forget nonetheless.
