i actually have a melee build specifically for my drill, i got a V/40/40 drill and i like using it more than my bloodied autoaxe just because its funnier

Angry turtle please watch a japanese fo76 youtuber named Katapan (Drill man) he mains melee and auto melee, he mostly uses drill and death tambo for pvp and is one of the best pvp players in Asia/ Oceania servers
I played with this and a Buzz Blade on my melee-main for the lulz (Hack n' Slash perks is nutso with them) and now it's almost impossible to give up (the damage ain't great... it's just bonkers fun)
I would love to see your build on this. I have mained a drill for months now. There is nothing better than stacking buffs running ninja and crit drilling the queen. She doesn't detect you. The ads around you die from hacknslash, and if she flies off, you can still get hits in from the ground. Vampires is best from my testing.

I got a Mr handy buzz saw blade with every consecutive hit increases damage, kills replenish 15 action points, and 25% less vats action points cost from fasnacht drop and love it, I never tried any of the automatic melee weapons and really wanna try some more

Turtle I've been professing my love for drills ever since we started getting legendary ones. You can absolutely solo Earle with it. If I can do it you definitely can lol
I got a B50c25 Drill from eviction notice earlier nice to see this but unfortunately I don’t have thorn armor yet any vault steel either so I’ll just have to use it with what I have it still packs a punch yet the easiest killer you can constantly move around killing things without being in danger.

Bought most of grolls when ppl did not care about these. Auto melee so 40pa is what you want for second star. V/40pa/50break is my main drill, fun and hnl is indeed very effective in vats if you use drills.
tbh I thought people where trolling when they suggested the drill - that looks better then the saw/axe. So next question - how is at as a backup weapon with just vamp? Tested it lower weight then chainsaw and the no spin up is seriously good as a weapon for mutated enemies. So for me its chainsaw 2.0
I actually hate that you cant see exact condition values, all, max one, current one, affected by mods.. how hard is to Bethesda add damn X/Y information, similarly as fusion and plasma cores have it.. maybe if someone knwos about some addition, settings, mod, would be great to get actual condition numbers, aside or instead of thsoe crappy bars we have.. (I think even old Fallout games had condition written in numbers for you), main issue is that there is that same thing can have different max condition so one cant even use wiki or anything, and as far I can tell it isnt even "with these stats you find things with this much condition bonus form base" but whole thing is RNG

I dont understand what was making the super mutants explode. The drill is only bloodied and Turtle said they were pretty much guaranteed to explode. Why?
love the drill on my melee toon. i've been fooling around with it since i stumbled upon one at whitesprings back in 2019, then when they added legendary perks i got a vamp and now i use it to heal instead of my vamp mr handy buzz blade.
You left out the greatest part, it's technically silenced. You can run around drilling enemies, and stay hidden/in caution!

Dawg he uses legendary cards, it's a lot to invest to even get it to do damage
What are you talking about? Auto 10mm, laser, and plasma shred. Combat sg, Cold shoulder, and gauss sg also shred…
also on the luck thing. if you have to fix a lot of things for weekly's or daily's. change your luck to one and loot a bunch of mobs.
Drill is very usefull for soloing the Heart of the Swamp event and saving ammo.

Got a random V40P1S godroll drill a while ago, maybe it's worth giving a shot lol

Whenever an event calls for repairing I get my drill out to repair said object, such as Eviction Notice. I'm sure it helps!
I have a V Drill, use it for all the mutated events where you have to kill with melee, great fun to use, even when not specced for it

Last week, i had a melee kill challenge. Just happened to buy a bss drill fir 300 caps. I was also surprised by it

I picked up a bloodied 50% more crit dmg 40% less dmg while power attack.. its perfect for my vats melee build

Tried it last halloween with the Close Shaved costume and I was surprise at the damage it could do, also really good with the Furious legendary.

One of my alts rocks the grease monkey power armour skin, and a legendary dropped a vamp 40pa drill for me, so it fits my character lol

How does it compare to the Ripper? The Drill has armor piercing but the Ripper does extra bleed damage.

does it count as a power attack? can the 2* defense while power attacking work here? I ask in case the explosive hurts too much.

Is the drill a silent weapon ? If so what does the Ninja perk affect it . Also is the drill considered power attacking ?
Yeah, it's a semi-silent melee weapon. Just don't use it more than 5 sec or enemy will notice

Exaggerated damage from unyielding thorn armor and the drill being bloodied.
I noticed that 40PA doesn't work or effect your drill dmg. So i guess 50 limb damage is more than fine.
