It’s here! I was really excited when you said you were working on this. Thanks Dome, always good to hear some new perspective as far as writing heavy music goes. The composition of death metal is something that really isn’t talked about as much as it should be. Can’t wait for the next one!
Haha everything just reminded me of Amon Amarth😆 Nice video, now I can finally name these type of riffs. I use the pedaltone type a lot, for Metalcore or Melodic Death Metal. I call it the „At the gates“ type riff, because that‘s where I heard it first. Looking forward to the series.
That was great. Thank you for posting. Any chance you could show the type of dissonant chords that compliment Death metal riffs. Maybe showing how to determine available options when complimenting a riff or melody using the circle of fifths. Bands like immolation, Gorguts, and ulcerate seem to thrive in this space.
I was looking through the Blackat Gallery and found this guitar. I wish they had a shape like SG or Viper Id like one with the same finish as Dom's but pink instead of green.
Nice classification. That`s basically the way I create my riffs but in some other genre. What I expected was hearing about some particular harmonic things (like tritons for black metal, ugly chord shapes for prog or fourths and fifths for doom).

Thank you for this. I'm trying to learn some of the theory or core ideas behind Death Metal and this is very informative. Thank you again!
Keep the videos coming man, they're great! Subscribed. Stay brutal!

i would love to see another video of this series, maybe about song structure or melody

That's for another episode... or two or three

great idea bro
You're a badass Dome! Very cool video.
This is great! 💪🤘
Hi , enjoyed that !
My suggestion is - riffs that use other fx pedals. ie- not just heavy distortion. Cheers.
You’re famous! 😀
Initially thought I was going to hate this but man, that was some awesome riffs
Find ich geil wollte sowas auch Ma machen aber man ist ja faul
